I DID SPEAK WITH CHIEF DAVIS EARLIER TODAY ABOUT THOSE THREE VEHICLES THAT THEY'RE REPLACING. THEY ARE GOING TO BE TURNING IN FOR VEHICLES THAT ARE CURRENTLY OUT OF SERVICE TO REPLACE THOSE VEHICLES. AND SO THOSE ARE THE POLICE VEHICLES THAT ARE THAT ARE ON THAT LIST FOR THE REPLACEMENTS, FOR THE 450, FOR THE FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS VEHICLE, THAT ONE, IT HAD A MOTOR BLOW UP. THE CONTRACT ENTITLES REPUBLIC TO AN ANNUAL RATE INCREASE THAT IS BASED ON THE CONSUMER PRICE INDEX, OR CPI, FROM SEPTEMBER, TO BE EFFECTIVE ON THE FOLLOWING FEBRUARY 1ST OF EACH YEAR. SO DURING DESIGN DEVELOPMENT, STAFF REALIZED THAT THE MASTER PLAN THAT WAS COMPLETED IN 2023 WAS RELATIVELY UNDERSIZED FOR FUTURE GROWTH AND OPERATIONS FOR PUBLIC WORKS AND BOTH FOR PARKS. SO THE COST ESTIMATE AS WE WENT THROUGH THE DESIGN DEVELOPMENT PHASE INCREASED FROM THAT, FROM THAT 15 MILLION TO ONCE, WE KIND OF HAD EVERYTHING THAT WE WANTED OUT THERE, IT WAS ABOUT 35 MILLION, WHICH OBVIOUSLY WAS MUCH HIGHER THAN THE 15 MILLION ORIGINAL BUDGET. SO WE STARTED WORKING WITH THE WITH THE CONTRACTORS TO AND THE ARCHITECTS TO PARE THAT DOWN TO WHAT WAS NECESSARY TO KEEP OPERATIONS MOVING, BUT THEN ALSO CUT OUT THINGS THAT MAYBE WE COULD ADD AT A LATER PHASE. SO WHEN WE GOT THE ORIGINAL BIDS, THE ADMIN BUILDING AND THE SITE WORK CAME IN AT APPROXIMATELY $25 MILLION, AND THE BID CAME IN AT ABOUT 7.1, WHICH IS STILL ABOVE THE 25 MILLION THAT CHUCK AND FINANCE WORKED TOGETHER TO IDENTIFY ADDITIONAL FUNDING TO PUT TOWARDS THIS PROJECT FROM IN ADDITION TO THE 15 MILLION THAT CAME FROM SAVINGS FROM WATER AND SEWER PROJECTS AND THEN FROM CAPITAL DEDICATED FUNDS AS WELL. SO WE WORKED WITH THE CONTRACT, THE CONTRACTOR, TO DO SOME VALUE ENGINEERING, AND ON THE SITE SITE LAYOUT ITSELF, THE COVERED STORAGE THERE ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE OF THE SCREEN, THAT IS NOT GOING TO BE INCLUDED. AT THAT POINT, WE WORKED WITH THE ARCHITECT TO MAKE SURE WE STILL MET AND EXCEEDED ALL OF OUR REGULATORY MINIMUMS FOR THE NUMBER OF STAFF THAT WE HAVE IN THIS FACILITY. SO WITH THOSE WITH THOSE REDUCTIONS IN THE SITE WORK AND THE ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, THAT BROUGHT IT DOWN TO JUST SHY OF 23 MILLION. AND THEN WE DID THE EXACT SAME PROCESS ON THE SHOP. AS WE SAW, THE PLAZA WAS COMPLETED, WHICH IS EXCITING. SO I WANT TO THANK THE, THE, THE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT FOR GETTING THAT COMPLETED FOR THE THE CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL. THAT WAS THAT WAS EXCITING AND IT LOOKED GREAT. WE HAD HELP ME OUT HERE MARCUS, WITH SOME OF THE UPDATES. YEAH. SO WE HAD A PRESENTATION FROM STAFF ABOUT THE MCKINLEY, WHICH I THOUGHT WAS MAYBE A LITTLE BIT PREMATURE BECAUSE IT, IT WAS YOU HAD DEVELOPERS IN THE ROOM THAT ARE PART OF THAT COMMITTEE AND PART OF THAT PROJECT. AND SO, YOU KNOW, NONETHELESS, I THINK THE THE FEEDBACK FROM THE GROUP WAS GOOD. I DO THINK THAT AS WE GO FORWARD AND WE THINK ABOUT OUR COMMITTEES, IT'D BE GOOD TO HAVE MAYBE DIALOG ABOUT THINGS THEY WOULD LIKE TO SEE VERSUS THINGS THAT ARE COMING. AND WHILE THAT COMMITTEE DOESN'T REALLY HAVE INPUT TO PROVIDE TO THAT PARTICULAR DEVELOPMENT, IT JUST IT DIDN'T FEEL LIKE IT'D BE APPROPRIATE TIME TO DISCUSS IT WITH THE DEVELOPERS WHO ARE ACTUALLY PUTTING THAT PROJECT TOGETHER WITH THE TOWN STAFF IN THERE AND CITIZENS. BUT ALL IN ALL, I THINK, YOU KNOW, THE INFORMATION GOT OUT. THEY ALSO DISCUSSED THE THE THE ITEM WE DISCUSSED IN THE WORK SESSION. SO IT WAS GOOD TO HEAR ABOUT THAT AND MINIMAL FEEDBACK FROM THE COMMITTEE ON THAT ITEM. BUT I JUST I AS WE MOVE FORWARD, I WOULD LOVE TO SEE A LITTLE BIT MORE DIALOG IN THE DOWNTOWN AND THE OTHER COMMITTEES THAT I SIT ON FROM THE COMMUNITY ABOUT THINGS THAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO SEE. AND THAT'S MY INITIAL FEEDBACK. THE CDC YOU HEARD TONIGHT, CDC TOOK UP THOSE ISSUES AS WELL WITH THE TAVERN AND THE AND THE SKY. AND THEN WE MET WITH NYACK, VERY SHARP GROUP OF KIDS. THEY GAVE US ALL KINDS OF FEEDBACK ON EVERYTHING FROM SOCIAL MEDIA TO EVENTS TO ENGAGING IN THE COMMUNITY. AND THEY WERE GREAT. WE LOVED OUR TIME WITH THEM AND LOOK FOR SOME CHANGES IN 2026 WITH THAT GROUP AS WELL. CDC AND THEN SIP MET AND YOU HEARD WHAT WE HEARD. THAT'S WHAT WE COVERED TONIGHT. OKAY. THANK YOU.
