THE STAFF UPDATES. HE'S GOING TO START WITH STEPH UPDATES TONIGHT. TREVOR. GOOD EVENING PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD. SO THIS PAST SATURDAY, UM, THE WAS THE FINAL EVENT OF THE DISCOVERED DOWNTOWN SERIES. IT WAS OUR PAWS ON BROADWAY EVENT. EVENT FOCUSED MAINLY ON THE CANINE SO, UM, WE START OUT WENT FROM 11 AM TO TWO PM THANK YOU TO ALL OUR VENDORS AND EXHIBITORS THAT ATTENDED WE HAD AROUND. 150 PLUS PEOPLE IN ATTENDANCE AND I WANTED TO.

HERE'S A FEW PICTURES HERE, BUT I WANTED TO SHOW SHORT VIDEO THAT WAS POSTED FROM OUR COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT.

WILSON HAYES WITH THE COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT, AND WILSON ALWAYS DOES A VERY GOOD JOB OF UH, UM DOING MEDIA AND VIDEOS AND WORKING WITH THE SOCIAL NETWORK FOR THE TOWN. SO AGAIN. THANK YOU TO EVERYBODY THAT SHOWED UP LIKE I SAID, WE HAD OVER 150. PLUS WE HAD OVER OVER 10 EXHIBITORS, SO STAFF DID A THANK YOU TO KAYLEN STONE. ALSO, OUR SPECIAL EVENTS COORDINATOR SHOULD HAVE FANTASTIC JOB OF GETTING THE LAYOUT TOGETHER. IT WAS VERY WARM DAY. SO ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE DID TO HELP UM, EASE. ANY KIND OF WORRIES WAS, YOU KNOW WE CREATE A LOT OF SHADE WATER THINGS TO HELP WITH THE DOGS BECAUSE WE UNDERSTAND, YOU KNOW. WITH HOW WARM IT IS AND SEPTEMBER THAT COULD BE A CONCERN FOR THE DOG LOVERS. SO GREAT EVENT. THIS WAS THE SECOND YEAR THAT WE HAD DONE PAUSE ON BROADWAY. SO LIKE I HAD

[00:05:02]

MENTIONED WE WRAPPED UP OUR DISCOVERED DOWNTOWN SERIES AND CURRENTLY STAFF IS WORKING TO PLAN ALL THE DATES FOR 2024, WHICH IS VERY WEIRD TO SAY, BUT SO WE'LL HAVE MORE UPDATES AS MORE MEETINGS, UM, COME OUT IN THE FUTURE. AND THEN. NEXT. WE HAVE. OUR CELEBRATE PROSPER EVENT. UM, MENTIONED BEFORE. THIS WAS BRIEF BRANDED RENAME USED TO BE THE COMMUNITY PICNIC . SO SATURDAY, OCTOBER 7TH AT THE FRONTIER PARK PAVILION, UM AND THE SURROUNDING AREA, WE WILL GET GOING. UM, THE OFFICIAL START TIME IS 5 P.M. TO 9 P.M. ONE THING ONE. ATTRACTION THAT WE ADDED. LAST YEAR, AND THAT WILL BE DOING AGAIN. IS WE WORK WITH FAMILIES WITH SPECIAL NEEDS , AND SO SOMETIMES WITH SOME OF THESE EVENTS, UM WHEN YOU HAVE THE INFLATABLES GOING AND ALL THE DIFFERENT ENTERTAINMENT FACTORS, UM THERE CAN BE DIFFICULT TIMES OF BEING ABLE TO LET THESE FAMILIES ENJOY SOME OF THOSE THINGS. SO LAST YEAR WE WERE ABLE TO CONNECT WITH THE FAMILY MEMBER AND HE HELPED SPREAD THE WORD. SO THIS YEAR, WE WILL BE DOING THE SAME THING FROM FOUR PM TO FIVE PM SPECIFICALLY FOR FAMILIES OF SPECIAL NEEDS. UM. THIS IS A PROSPER FOCUS. NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS OF THE HIGHLIGHT. UM WE HAVE DIFFERENT PARTNERS. GATEWAY CHURCH, PROSPER LADIES ASSOCIATION, PROSPER. UM, SEE, THEY COME OUT. THEY PROVIDE DIFFERENT BEVERAGES. UM. THE GATEWAY CHURCH. THEY DO THE GRILLING FOREST WITH THE HOT DOGS AND THEN ALSO WE INVITE TOWN COUNCIL AND MAYOR OUT TO KIND OF YOU KNOW, DISTRIBUTE ALL THIS AND JUST IT'S REALLY AN EVENT THAT'S FOCUSING ON KIND OF MEETING THE COMMUNITY AND HAVING THE COMMUNITY COMING TOGETHER. WE'LL HAVE LIVE MUSIC. WE HAVE A STAGE GOING LIKE I MENTIONED EARLIER. FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT INFLATABLES. BALLOON ARTISTS, FACE PAINTERS AND THEN COMPLIMENTARY FOOD AND BEVERAGE AVAILABLE AS WELL, SO WE'RE REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO IT. THERE ARE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE. IF THERE'S ANY INTEREST FROM THE BOARD, PLEASE GET WITH MYSELF FOR KAILYN STONE. UM AGAIN. THIS IS A REALLY GOOD OPPORTUNITY TO GET OUT THERE. I NEED THE COMMUNITY. UM AND THEN WITH THE NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS REALLY KIND OF SEEING WHAT THEY HAVE TO OFFER FOR THE TOWN. UM SO I'M REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THIS ONE. AND THEN MUSIC WILL GET GOING RIGHT AROUND 5 15 OR SO WE HAVE THREE BANDS, SO WE'RE REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO IT. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES. ARE THEY IN BLOCKS? ARE THEY VOLUNTEER? THE WHOLE EVENT OR WHAT? UM, IF YOU WANT TO STAY THE WHOLE EVENT? THAT'S FINE. IF IT'S LIKE A TWO HOUR BLOCK, WE CAN DEFINITELY WORK SOMETHING OUT TO WHERE WE COULD SAY OKAY. FROM 6 TO 8, WE CAN HAVE SOME. WE CAN HAVE SOME TIME FRAME THERE TO WORK WITH.

SO YEAH, IF THERE ARE ANY IF THERE IS ANY INTEREST LIKE I SAID, PLEASE GET WITH ME AND CAITLIN AND I CAN WORK TOGETHER AND KIND OF FINE. UM FIND A SPOT IN THERE TO VOLUNTEER. TREVOR, CAN I CAN I BUTT IN FOR A SEC? HMM. UM, FOR THOSE OF YOU ON THE BOARD THIS TIME LAST YEAR. THIS WAS THE FIRST EVENT WE DID WHERE WE STARTED TO INCORPORATE SOME OPPORTUNITIES FOR SOME OF OUR FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS. WAS WAS FANTASTIC. UH, TREVOR KAYLIN DID A BUNCH OF WORK ON THE FRONT END. AND WE'RE PLANNING DOING THE SAME THING AGAIN THIS YEAR.

WHAT WE DO IS WELL, ACTUALLY OPEN IT UP ABOUT FOUR O'CLOCK FOR THOSE FAMILIES TO COME OUT.

BE ABLE TO GET ON ALL THE BOUNCE HOUSES AND FUN STUFF. WITHOUT THE REST OF THE PUBLIC BEING IN THERE, SO THAT THEY, YOU KNOW, LESS LESS KIDS. SOME SOME OF THEM HAVE SOME MOBILITY CHALLENGES. UM SO I WOULD LOVE IF YOU IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING FOR THAT EVENT. AH THERE'S AN OPPORTUNITY TO COME OUT A LITTLE BIT EARLY AND HELP US WITH THOSE FAMILIES HELPED DIRECT THEY THEY'RE ALL THEY'VE ALL GOT PARENTS WITH THEM, BUT SOMETIMES IT'S JUST A HAPPY TO HAVE YOU HERE. RIGHT OVER HERE IS YOU KNOW OVER HERE? WE CAN DO THIS. DO THAT, UM, STAFF THAT ARE REALLY AWESOME JOB LAST YEAR, REALLY PUTTING TOGETHER UM VERY COOL PACKAGE FREE SNOW CONE. THE EARLY ADMITTANCE AND I CAN'T REMEMBER WHAT ELSE WE DID . WE KNOW WE HAD, UH, CHANGING TENT FOR SOME OF THOSE FAMILIES THAT MAYBE HAVE KIDS THAT ARE A LITTLE BIT BIGGER, THAT THEY CAN'T GO IN AND HELP THEM CHANGE OUT OF SOLD CLOTHES IN A IN A PORTA POTTY. WE SET UP A 10 BY 10 10 WITH SOME TABLES AND SOMEWHAT SO REALLY, WE LISTEN TO THEM. WE TRIED TO IMPLEMENT THOSE ITEMS, BUT IT'S PROBABLY ABOUT AS PROUD AS I'VE BEEN IN MY CAREER TO SEE WHAT STAFF

[00:10:03]

WE'RE ABLE TO DO FOR THOSE FAMILIES, SO MOST OF THEM STAYED. A LOT OF THEM STAYED THE WHOLE TIME. IT WAS IT WAS INCREDIBLE. SO, UM, WE'RE HAPPY IF YOU WANT TO BE A PART OF THAT. WE CAN CERTAINLY MAKE THAT AVAILABLE. IF YOU WANT TO COME OUT EARLY. OR AS TREVOR SAID, ANYTHING YOU'D LIKE TO DO. WE'LL MAKE A SPOT. THERE'S PLENTY GOING ON AT THAT EVENT, SO TREVOR. THANK YOU. WERE THERE ANY QUESTIONS IN REGARDS TO THIS EVENT? OKAY? SO ROLLING INTO NOVEMBER. FRONTIER PARK AS WELL. UM VETERANS DAY FIVE K FUN RUN, SO THIS IS A SPECIAL ONE BECAUSE IT'S ACTUALLY ON VETERANS DAY SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 11TH. REGISTRATION IS CURRENTLY OPEN.

UM ALL OF OUR REGISTRATIONS ARE DONE THROUGH A THIRD PARTY RUN SIGN UP, SO LAST TIME I CHECKED WE HAD ABOUT I MEAN, WE HAVE 11 REGISTRATIONS, BUT WE'RE IN SEPTEMBER, SO A LOT OF THE RUNNERS USUALLY WILL KIND OF WAIT UNTIL THEY'RE GETTING A LITTLE BIT CLOSER TO THE EVENT.

YOU KNOW, THEY WANT TO WEIGH OUT WHETHER DIFFERENT THINGS LIKE THAT. UM OPENING PROGRAM IS GOING TO START AT EIGHT AM SO WE'VE SPOKEN LAST YEAR, THE MAYOR MAYOR DAVID BRISTOL, HAD SOME WORDS TO SAY BEFORE WE GOT THE ACTUAL RACE KICKED OFF 8 30. UM. WERE ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR EXHIBITORS. ANY EXAGGERATED THAT WILL BE THERE. THIS IS GOING TO BE SOMETHING PART OF THE FINISH LINE. SO WHEN YOU GET THERE, UM YOU KNOW, IT'S KIND OF LIKE A CELEBRATION OF, YOU KNOW , UH, FINISHING THIS AND CELEBRATING IT. AND SO WE ARE ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR EXHIBITORS. UM, WE JUST WE? BASICALLY WE HAVE A FIVE K AND A ONE MILE FUN RUN, SO WE'RE WORKING RIGHT NOW ON FINALIZING THE ONE MILE FUN RUN ROUTE TO KIND OF MAKE SURE THAT EVERYONE IS IN THE YOU KNOW, BEGINNING AND ENDING IN THE SAME AREA. THAT'S SOMETHING THAT WAS REALLY IMPORTANT TO US. UM BUT, YEAH, WE ARE. WE'RE REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THIS. AND IT'S GONNA BE ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 11TH. SO IF THERE'S ANY, UH LIKE SAID VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES, OR EVEN IF THERE IS INTEREST IN RUNNING THE RACE, UM GET WITH MYSELF, CAITLIN AND WE CAN KIND OF DIRECT YOU TO WHERE TO SIGN UP FOR THAT. SO LAST YEAR, WE HAVE RIGHT AROUND 130. PARTICIPANTS SO LOOKING TO LOOKING TO CLEAR THE 200 IS, YOU KNOW THAT'S THE GOAL. SO LAST YEAR WAS A LITTLE COLD THE MORNING SO YOU KNOW, WE'LL KIND OF SEE IT'S NOVEMBER, SO YOU REALLY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT THERE, BUT WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO IT. AND SO. MENTIONED THE PAST. WE'VE REALLY BEEN TRYING TO INCREASE OUR OPPORTUNITIES FOR ACTIVE ADULTS , AND WE STARTED OUT THE FIRST ONE WITH THE TRIP TO MINERAL WELLS. WONDERFUL MINERAL WELLS. WE FOLLOW IT UP WITH A TRIP TO DOWNTOWN DALLAS AND THEN WE ALSO HAD A ROUGH RIDERS GAME THAT WE WENT THROUGH OUT DURING THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY. SO THIS WOULD BE OFFICIALLY THE FOURTH DAY TRIP AND THIS ONE'S A LITTLE BIT OF A FURTHER DRIVE. UM SO ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 16TH. WE WILL BE DEPARTING TOWN HALL, 8 A.M. AND HEADING TO WACO, TEXAS. UM WE ALL WORK WITH THE SAME COMPANY, ITS HERITAGE BUS TOURS. THEY DO A FANTASTIC JOB OF, UM SETTING EVERYTHING UP, GIVING US A PACKAGE OF BASICALLY EVERYTHING IS TAKEN CARE OF. THEY DO ALL THE SCHEDULING ALL THE IF WE'RE GOING TO MUSEUMS OR GOING TO LAUNCH OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT, IT'S ALL HANDLED AND THEY'VE BEEN DOING THIS FOR OVER 30 YEARS. UM, THE PERSON WHO ALWAYS JOINS US, BYRON. HE DOES A FANTASTIC JOB OF PROVIDING HISTORICAL COMMENTARY. UM SO AS WE'RE HEADING DOWN THERE, YOU KNOW, HEADING TO WACO. IT'S ABOUT AN HOUR AND A HALF DRIVE. GIVE OR TAKE, SO YOU KNOW, HE'LL REALLY HAVE TO BEEF UP HIS COMMENTARY THERE TO, UM YOU KNOW, KEEP EVERYBODY ENTERTAINED. BUT WE'RE LOOKING AT DOING, YOU KNOW, GOING TO THE DOCTOR PEPPER MUSEUM, UM, THE HOMESTEAD HERITAGE FARM AND THEN MAKE A TRIP OVER TO THE MAGNOLIA SILOS. SO AND THEN ALSO GETTING LUNCH AT CAFE HOMESTEAD. SO RIGHT NOW, WE'RE JUST LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT DEADLINE TO REGISTER FOR THE WONDERS OF WACO TRIP IS SEPTEMBER 29TH. SO UM, JUST KIND OF MAKING SURE THAT WE HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO GET UP PEOPLE EVER IN THERE AND JUST KIND OF CONFIRMED EVERYTHING. AND YES, TELLING PROSPER RESIDENTS. THIS IS, UH, THIS IS OPEN TO RESIDENTS AND NON RESIDENTS. YOU KNOW THEY I KNOW

[00:15:01]

BYRON WILL KIND OF ADVERTISED WITH DIFFERENT CITIES BECAUSE HE WORKS WITH DIFFERENT CITIES, BUT HE DOES PUT THE WORD OUT THERE. UM THEY HAVE, LIKE A MAGAZINE OR A MILLING. THAT GOES OUT SO YES , THIS IS NOT LIMITED TO RESIDENTS. ONLY WE WANTED MANY PEOPLE. I MEAN, A BUS CAN FIT 40 WITH LOVE 40, BUT YOU KNOW, WE WILL BRING IN ANYONE THAT WANTS TO JOIN IN. THIS ALSO GIVES OPPORTUNITY JUST KIND OF SEE WHAT THE TOWN HAS TO OFFER. AND YOU KNOW, WE'RE REALLY TRYING TO INCREASE OUR ACTIVE ADULT PROGRAMMING. AND SO THIS IS ONE OF THE THIS IS ONE OF THE MANY WAYS THAT WE HAVE TRIED TO INCREASE THIS. AND I WILL BE GOING AND THEN OUR NEW RECREATION SPECIALIST ALYSSA BOYD, SHE WILL BE JOINING AS WELL. SO THIS WILL BE HER FIRST TRIPLE. LET'S JUST STARTED WITH US ABOUT THREE WEEKS AGO. SO SHE'S ON HER THIRD WEEK WITH THE TOWN SO REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO IT. AND THEN WE'LL START PLANNING FOR THE NEXT TRIP IN THE SPRING. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. THANK YOU.

GOOD EVENING. OKAY, WE'RE DOING WELL. IT'S GOING TO SEE YOU AGAIN. I'VE GOT SOME GOOD NEWS ABOUT THE CONGREVE PARK. THE CONTRACTOR HAS FULLY COMPLETED ALL THE IRRIGATION REPAIRS, AND THE INSTALLATION STARTED YESTERDAY, ALMOST FINISHED ABOUT 90% OF ITS DONE. I WENT OUT THERE AND WALKED OUT THIS AFTERNOON. GOT THIS PHOTO THAT YOU'RE LOOKING AT? LOOKS REALLY GOOD. SO WE'RE GETTING SOME RAIN AND COOLER WEATHER. I THINK IT'S GOING TO DO WELL. NEXT NEXT STEP REALLY IS PARTIES AND I WILL DEVELOP A PUNCH LIST AND WE WILL WORK WITH THE CONTRACTOR TO GET THIS THING CLOSED OUT. CLOSE UP PROCESS INVOLVES PAPERWORK AND WHATNOT THAT CAN DRAG ON FOR A MONTH OR TWO. BUT ESSENTIALLY THE PROJECT'S ALMOST COMPLETELY DONE AND IT'S REALLY GOOD. I JUST HOPE WE GET MORE RAIN BECAUSE THE POND IS GETTING REALLY LOW. THAT'S SCARY, THOUGH, BUT GOOD NEWS ON THAT ONE. IT'S COMING TOGETHER AND WE'RE ALMOST DONE WITH IT.

LIQUID PRESERVE PARK. SO THE PHOTO HERE, THE SLIDE YOU'RE LOOKING AT HASN'T CHANGED, BUT THE STATUS OF THE PROJECT HAS DAN AND I WE MET WITH THE HINDS GROUP AND THE DEVELOPERS AND THEN WE MET WITH RATLIFF HARDSCAPE, THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR ON SEPTEMBER 5TH. AND THEN TWO DAYS AGO ON THE 13TH NEGOTIATE GETTING THE CONSTRUCTION COSTS DOWN AND THEY WERE. I THINK WE'VE REACHED THE POINT NOW WHERE WE HAVE THE PRODUCTIONS THAT WE NEED TO COST AND SO WITH. THE PROJECT IS WITHIN THE BUDGET, SO WE'RE READY TO MOVE FORWARD, AND HEINZ AND RATLIFF THEY ARE WORKING ON REVISING THE BID ITEMS TO GET THEM ALL TO THESE NEW LOWER COSTS AND THOSE NUMBERS OF WHAT WILL BE USED TO DRAFT CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT SO WE CAN MOVE FORWARD. IT'S PROBABLY GONNA TAKE ANOTHER MONTH OF GETTING ALL THE PAPERWORK TAKEN CARE OF, AND THE FINAL AGREEMENTS FULLY EXECUTED AND ALL THAT, BUT WE REALLY DO ANTICIPATE BREAKING GROUND IN OCTOBER. I KNOW THEY WERE OUT THERE THIS AFTERNOON. I CUT THE GRASS ALL THE HIGH WEEDS YESTERDAY. WE HAD A TRUCK OUT THERE TODAY BECAUSE I DROVE BY AND SAW, UM THEY'RE DOING A SPECIAL KIND OF SURVEY CALLED THE LIDAR. AND I DON'T REALLY UNDERSTAND EXACTLY WHAT THAT ACRONYM STANDS FOR THAT THEY WERE LOOKING AT THE GROUND, TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHERE THE SOIL IS ONE OF THE PROBABLY THE SINGLE LARGEST COST. FOR DOING THIS PROJECT WITH SOIL IMPORTATION. IT WAS HALF A MILLION DOLLARS. BUT WE'VE REACHED OUT TO SOME CONTRACTORS IN THIS CONTRACTOR RATLIFF HAS REACHED OUT BEHIND WAS WORKING WITH SOME PEOPLE WERE GOING TO TRY TO IMPORT OIL FOR FREE FROM OTHER CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS WHERE THEY NEED TO GET RID OF IT. SO WE'RE HOPING WE CAN SAVE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN THAT SO THINGS ARE COMING TOGETHER, AND I THINK ONCE AGAIN WE SHOULD BE UNDER CONSTRUCTION NEXT OCTOBER.

KIND OF EXCITING BECAUSE I DIDN'T WORKING WITH A LONG TIME I'VE BEEN WORKING ON IT EVER SINCE THE FIRST DAY I STARTED HERE. I WANT TO SEE THIS THING MOVE FORWARD. SO NOT 00. THANK YOU NOT TO MOVE BACK TOO FAR IN THIS CONVERSATION. UH UM. CAN YOU. TELL A LITTLE BIT ABOUT WHAT YOU HOW YOU GOT INTO. THE PROPER BUDGET. WHAT WAS CUT? WHAT WAS? YOU KNOW? I COULD SURE I'LL BE TALKING TO LEAD IT AND THEY'RE JUST JUMP IN IF YOU WANT TO LET ME WE, AS I SAID, WE'RE LOOKING AT SAVING A LOT OF MONEY ON SOIL IMPORTATION BECAUSE THAT WAS THE SINGLE BIGGEST COST, SO I THINK THE IMPORTANT THING FOR YOU GUYS AND I WERE HAPPY TO GO INTO DETAIL. WE DIDN'T CUT ANY OF THE SCOPE OF THE PROJECT. SO IT WAS REALLY EVERYTHING WAS THROUGH PROCESS IMPROVEMENTS LOOKING AT OTHER OTHER OTHER ITEMS, OR THERE SOME ITEMS THAT MAY HAVE BEEN MORE, UM.

APPROXIMATIONS ON MATERIAL LIKE THE SOIL, WE THINK WAS 50,000 YARDS. THEY HAD YEAH, WE THINK IT'S GOING TO DO IT WITH FEWER THINGS LIKE WHAT? THEY ALSO THE CONTRACTOR REACHED OUT TO THE SUBCONTRACTORS THAT BID ALL THE VARIOUS ASPECTS FOR THEM, AND THEY BASICALLY SO IF YOU WANT

[00:20:02]

THIS WORK, WE NEED A BETTER PRICE FROM YOU, SO THEY GOT SOME BETTER PRICES. ESSENTIALLY DAN LET THEM KNOW THAT THEY COULDN'T COME UP WITH THE BUDGET CUTS THAT WE NEED THAT WE WERE GOING TO ASK THEM FOR THE $600,000. THEY OWE US FOR MANAGING THIS PROJECT, AND I WAS GOING TO BE THE PROJECT MANAGER, SO THEY DON'T WANT TO PART WITH THAT MONEY, SO THAT'S HOW WE GOT THEM TO COME BACK AND SAY, OKAY, WE CAN DO THIS CHEAPER. SO UM GOOD, GOOD JOB.

AMAZING COST RIGHT? YES, SIR. YES SO I THINK AS MOST YOU KNOW WHEN A NEW DEVELOPMENT COMES IN DEVELOPER COMES IN. THEY WERE ALL THE TOWN. MONEY BASED ON NUMBER OF HOMES OR APARTMENTS OR SIZE OF THE DEVELOPMENT. ALL THESE THINGS ALL ADD UP TREATMENT, GATIEN ALL THAT UP INTO A NUMBER AND, UM SOME JUST CHOOSE THE RIGHT AND CHECK AND GO HERE YOU GO TALENT. OTHERS MAY BE A COMBINATION THEY MAKE DONATE LAND THEY MAY SO PERFORM SOME OF THE CONSTRUCTION. IN THIS CASE, UM KINDS NUMBER. I MEAN, 600,000 A LOT OF MONEY, NO DOUBT, BUT WE HAVE A LOT OF THESE ARE SEVEN FIGURES A LOT OF TIMES, SO THERE WAS A AGREEMENT THAT WAS MADE RIGHT ABOUT THE TIME I STARTED. UH, THAT THEY SHOWED THEM THE TALENT THAT THEY COULD PUT ENOUGH INTO THIS ON THE MANAGEMENT SIDE. AND WE'VE YOU KNOW. I'M NOT GOING TO SAY WE'RE UNDERSTAFFED, BUT IT WAS A RESOURCE WE DIDN'T REALLY HAVE AT THE TIME AS FAR AS THE OVERSIGHT IN THE ABILITY TO GO IN AND BUILD THIS PROJECT, JUST WITH THE STAFF WE HAD IN IN, UH A LOT OF US AT THE TIME. SO THE AGREEMENT WAS MADE, AND I KNOW THAT SOUNDS LIKE A LOT OF MONEY FOR MANAGEMENT. TYPICALLY A PROJECT YOU'RE GONNA PROBABLY ANYWHERE FROM 10 TO 15% MANAGEMENT. IT REALLY IS. IT SOUNDS CRAZY. BUT THAT IS ABOUT WHAT WE WOULD PAY ANY OTHER FIRM TO MANAGE IT. IT'S ABOUT A $5 MILLION PARK PROJECT, SO UM, SO WE FELT GOOD ABOUT THAT, UM THERE WERE SOME SCOPE CHANGES ALONG THE WAY FROM THE TOWN SIDE. KIND OF DEVELOPMENT KIND OF WENT AWAY FOR A LITTLE BIT.

THEY WERE BEING SUPER RESPONSIVE . SO THIS PROJECT I WAS HOPING THIS PROJECT WOULD HAVE BROKEN GROUND ABOUT A YEAR AGO. BUT JUST DUE TO SOME LEGAL STUFF, GOING BACK AND FORTH. UH UM. WE FINALLY GOT HIM. GOING AND, UH YES, WE HAD PUSH HIM A LITTLE BIT ON SOME ITEMS, AND, UM AND KURT'S DONE A GREAT JOB WORKING WITH THEM, SO THEY HAVE BEEN ABLE TO ONE OF THE BENEFITS OF WORKING WITH THIS DEVELOPER. THEY HAVE RELATIONSHIPS AND THEY HAVE THINGS THEY CAN NEGOTIATE AND DO THAT. WE CAN'T ALWAYS NECESSARILY DO BASED ON PROCUREMENT LAWS AND ALONG THOSE LINES, THEY HAVE A BAMA RELATIONSHIP WITH RATLIFF. HARDSCAPE RATLIFF DOES A LOT OF WORK FOR THEM ON OTHER PROJECTS OUTSIDE OF THE TOWN. SO THEY'VE BEEN ABLE TO TALK WITH THEM AND START TO THINK OF OTHER WAYS TO GET THIS PROJECT DONE LEGALLY SPEAKING IN THE VERNACULAR VERNACULAR, THEY CAN SQUEEZE PEOPLE IN A WAY THAT WE CAN'T PRICE. SO THEY'VE BEEN ABLE TO REDUCE. WE WERE ASKING THEM TO COME TO THE TABLE ON ABOUT A 6 $700,000 REDUCTION OVERALL. TO GET. TO GET TO THE NUMBER WE NEED TO BE. THIS PROJECT ALSO HAD FIVE OR SIX BIT, ALTERNATES, THINGS WE WOULD HAVE LIKED TO HAVE HAD BUT DIDN'T NECESSARILY MEAN WE NEEDED IT FOR THE PROJECT, SO WE DID NOT GET ALL THOSE, UM BUT WE WERE ABLE TO ALSO WORK SOME OTHER SOURCES. IF YOU GUYS KNOW ANYBODY FROM PASO PROSPER. PROSPER ATHLETIC SUCKER , PROSPER AREAS SOCCER ORGANIZATION. THEY ARE GOING TO WRITE THE TOWN OF HALF MILLION DOLLAR CHECK. UH, BECAUSE WE WERE ABLE TO GET AROUND THERE WAS A RESTROOM IN THE BID IS A BIT ALTERNATE WAS ABOUT FOUR DEGREES AND THAT INCLUDES THE BUILDING ALL THE INFRASTRUCTURE NEEDED TO GET THE WATER AND SEWER AND EVERYTHING TO IT. UM THEY CAME TO ME AND SAID, I'LL GIVE YOU HALF MILLION IF YOU CAN GET US A RESTROOM OUT THERE BECAUSE WE NEED THOSE FIELDS SO WE SAID YES. SO WE MET AT ABOUT 100,000 TOWARDS OUR BUDGET DEFICIT BUT ALSO PICKED UP A PRETTY IMPORTANT AMENITY IN THE PARK. SO UM, THERE'S BEEN A LITTLE HAGGLING BACK AND FORTH LIKE THAT, TRYING TO SEE WHERE WE COULD GO WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERS AND, YOU KNOW SQUEEZE THE DEVELOPER A LITTLE BIT AND YOU GET THESE CALLS DOWN. UM AND IT'S BEEN SUCCESSFUL. THERE'S SOME FRUSTRATION I KNOW IN IN THE TOWN, EVEN WITH COUNCIL THAT THIS PROJECT IS TAKING SO LONG. UM I WILL ASSURE YOU THAT KURT AND I ARE DOING EVERYTHING WE CAN. THERE WAS LITERALLY ABOUT 56 MONTH PERIOD WHERE THEY JUST WEREN'T BEING RESPONSIVE TO OUR ATTORNEY THINGS ALONG THOSE LINES, SO WE FINALLY GOT HIM TO COME BACK TO THE TABLE AND WE'VE GOT EVERYBODY GOING THE RIGHT DIRECTION. IN THE LAST MEETING.

WE HIT THAT NUMBER WE NEED TO HIT. SO PLAN IS FOR ME TO TAKE THE TAKE THE REQUEST TO COUNCIL

[00:25:03]

ON THE 26TH. UM ASKING HIM TO BLESS, AND THEY'RE NOT REALLY BECAUSE OF THE NATURE OF THE PROJECT DEVELOPER BUILD. IT'S NOT SO MUCH THAT THEY'RE AWARDING THE CONTRACT BECAUSE WE'RE NOT AWARDING THE CONTRACT . WE ARE PART OF THE SELECTION PROCESS IN THE DESIGN PROCESS.

BUT UM AND WE'VE GOT A CHUNK OF MONEY GOING TOWARDS IT. BUT IT'S STILL THE CONTRACT IS GOING TO BE BETWEEN HINDS AND RATLIFF, THE DEVELOPER AND THE CONTRACTOR. SO IT'S KIND OF A LITTLE MORE CONVOLUTED THAN WHAT'S A TYPICAL PARK PROJECT. BUT WE'VE GOT PURCHASING. WE'VE GOT OUR ATTORNEY. WE GOT EVERYBODY MAKING SURE THAT WE'RE GOING THE RIGHT DIRECTION. AND YOU KNOW, AT THE END OF THE DAY WE'VE BEEN ABLE TO KNOCK I DON'T KNOW. PROBABLY 6 700,000 OFF THE PRICE TAG, BUT ALSO BE ABLE TO PUT SOME ITEMS BACK IN THAT WE'RE GOING TO GET VALUE ENGINEERED OUT, SO WE FEEL REALLY GOOD ABOUT WHAT THE END PROJECT AND PRODUCT WILL BE.

IT'S NOT GONNA BE, UH DUMB DOWN VERSION OR WE'RE GIVING UP A LOT , AND THERE'S SOME THINGS WE'D STILL LIKE TO HAVE. THE PAVILION DIDN'T MAKE IT. UM THAT WAS THE BIG THING. I THINK THAT DIDN'T MAKE IT IN THE FACE OF THINGS WE CAN ALWAYS ADD BACK AT SOME POINT DOWNLOAD THE ROAD WHEN WE GET SOME FINDINGS SO, BUT NO, I AND THANK YOU BOTH BECAUSE I'VE HAD SOME CONVERSATION WITH SOME OF THE COUNCIL ABOUT THE PARK. AND I JUST I MEAN, I THINK WE WOULDN'T BE WHERE WE ARE TODAY.

IF YOU GUYS WEREN'T WEARING THAT I'VE BEEN HERE BEFORE T SHIRTS. SO THANK YOU VERY MUCH, AND WE'RE WATCHING IT CAREFULLY. IT SHOULD BE REALLY NICE PART AND HOPEFULLY THE NEXT TIME I'M STANDING HERE, SPEAKING OF SOME PHOTOS OF SEXUAL STUFF HAPPENING ON THE SITE. READING COMMUNITY PARK ONCE AGAINST OTHER THINGS HAVE ACTUALLY BEEN HAPPENING ON THIS ONE TO THE DESIGN TEAM, AND THAT'S ALL OF THIS MAT NEED DANNON AND PEOPLE HAVE DONE WITH. WE'RE WORKING THROUGH IRRIGATION SYSTEM ISSUES RIGHT NOW, WE'RE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHERE WE'RE GOING TO GET THE WATER FOR THIS SITE. WE CAN'T DECIDE YET. WE'RE GOING TO USE TOWN WATER LIKE COMES THROUGH THE PIPES AND METERS OR IF WE WANT TO DIG A WELL AND PUMP IT. PUMP WATER OUT OF THE WORLD IN A POND AND EXACTLY WHAT WE DO IN FRONTIER PARK. SO WE'RE TRYING TO FIGURE THAT OUT. WE'RE WAITING ON GETTING A COST ON WHAT IT COSTS COST FOR DRILLING WELL AND SEE TRYING TO GET COMPARISON. SO WE'RE KIND OF WORKING THROUGH THAT RIGHT NOW. BUT THINGS ARE IN THE BACKGROUND. THE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS ARE STILL UNDERWAY AND THEY'RE SCHEDULED TO HAVE BEEN COMPLETED IN OCTOBER. 31 AND THAT WILL HAPPEN IN NOVEMBER, AND WE'RE STILL HOPING AND AS FAR AS I KNOW, WE ARE SCHEDULED TO TAKE THE GUARANTEED MAXIMUM PRICE TO COUNSEL FOR THEIR CONSIDERATION IN THE CENTER. AND THEN HOPEFULLY BREAKING GROUND EARLY NEXT YEAR. DOING EVERYTHING WE CAN STAY ON THAT SCHEDULE. QUESTIONS.

REAL FAST COUPLE PICTURES HERE. SO WE'RE IF YOU LOOK REAL CLOSE AND FELLOW HAVE THE HOLBORN.

CONSTRUCTED. WATER ALMOST TWO YEARS. FINALLY DONE. COUPLE OF IRRIGATION PROBLEMS, YOU KNOW, WITH THE DRIVE. GROUND THAT WE'VE HAD LOTS OF ISSUES THIS YEAR. OR THIS PAST SUMMER. A COUPLE MORE PICTURES OF JUST GUYS WORKING. BEEN DOING SO WHAT WE'RE ABOUT TO WRAP UP DOING THAT KIND OF NOTICE AND NORTH SECTION OF THE TOWN HALL HERE. STARTED LIVING UP TREES GOING TO START WORKING ON ALL THE PLANT MATERIAL. BROUGHT TO TOWN CALLED MEDIUMS WORKING ON THOSE REALLY TRYING TO FIGURE OUT ALL THE IRRIGATION PROBLEMS. EVERYBODY CAN SEAL. SO WE'RE JUST NOT ENOUGH TIME TO WATER MUD, AND IT'S BEEN SO HOT. SO WE'RE RAMPING UP ALL THE BIDS AND CONTRACT MODE ONE AND ALL I COULD START RIGHT NOW. SO WE'RE I DON'T LIKE TO BE REAL BUSY.

GAZA BEEN DOING WHAT THEY CAN WE'LL JUST KEEP ON. DOING THE BEST WE CAN TO THE SEASONS ARE OVER. THAT'S ALL WE HAVE. QUESTIONS. THANK YOU. THANK YOU, MA'AM. OKAY SO I'M GONNA GIVE YOU MY UPDATE. FIRST OF ALL, I'M GOING TO TAKE A MOMENT OF PROUD DIRECTOR MOMENT. TO THANK MY STAFF. THESE GUYS HAVE BEEN KILLING IT ALL THE WAY. ACROSS UM YOU KNOW, MATT DOESN'T SAY A LOT WHEN IT COMES UP HERE. YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT BECAUSE I WAS IN HIS POSITION. NOT ALL THAT LONG AGO. AND, UH, YOU HAVE A SUMMER LIKE THE SUMMER WE HAD WITH NO RAIN. AND THAT HE IRRIGATION. YOU'RE NOT GOING TO KEEP ALIVE ALIVE WITH JUST IRRIGATION, IRRIGATION.

SUPPLEMENTARY I CAN TELL YOU THAT FROM EXPERIENCE. YOU GOTTA YOU GOTTA GET A LITTLE HELP

[00:30:03]

MOTHER NATURE. AND WE'VE HADEEKO . YOU KNOW, WE KNOW WE HAVE SOME WORDS OUT THERE. WE'VE GOT BILLIONS THAT STILL NEED REPLACEMENT. WE'VE GOT WORKING ON A PLANE FOR THAT. BUT MATT AND HIS GUYS HAVE DONE A PHENOMENAL JOB. AH, TREVOR. WITH JUST THE PROGRAMS AND THE, UH WE HAD A COUPLE EVENTS AND I'LL INCLUDE KAYLIN. AND WITH THIS, UM FREEDOM FEST. WAS IT WASN'T I'M GOING TO GIVE YOU AN UPDATE ON THIS TEAM. FREEDOM BEST WAS A GREAT EVENT FOR US. BUT YOU KNOW, IT WAS KIND OF INITIALLY THE PLAN WAS THE TOWN'S GONNA BY THIS EVENT, ESSENTIALLY IN BRING ALL THEIR PEOPLE IN. THEY SET IT UP. THEY RUN IT. I CAN TELL YOU AND IT WAS FANTASTIC, BUT I WILL TELL YOU WITHOUT CAMERON STONE. BIRD DOG. IN THAT THING ABOUT THE MONTH PRIOR, IT PROBABLY WOULD HAVE BEEN A DISASTER. SHE PUT HER A LOT OF TIME, A LOT OF BLOOD, SWEAT AND TEARS IN THAT THING. AND A LOT OF THE SUCCESSFUL THAT EVENT IS DUE TO HER. TREVOR'S LEADERSHIP AND GUNS. KURT HAS BEEN KILLING IT WITH HARVEY'S ON THESE PROJECTS CAN. IT'S TOUGH, YOU KNOW, WITH THE HEAT AND THE INABILITY TO YOU KNOW, WE WOULD HAVE HAD THE CONGREVE DONE MONTHS AGO, BUT HAD THE FORESIGHT TO THANK ALL THAT IRRIGATION FOR THAT PARK IS COMING FROM THAT POND. AND IF YOU DON'T HAVE SOME MOTHER NATURE, HELPING THE ESPECIALLY THE AMOUNT OF WATER WAS GOING TO TAKE THAT HEAT. WE WOULD HAVE GONE UPON ALL THE WAY DOWN. AND THEN YOU WOULD HAVE HAD THAT POND RUNOFF ONLY IS THAT HOW THAT FEELS THERE'S NOT A WILL IN THAT ONE IS THERE SO IT'S JUST RUN OFF AND THAT POND ALSO FEEDS A LOT OF THE CHOICE. LANDSCAPE AS WELL. SO THERE'S A PARTNERSHIP WITH THEIR WITH THEM . BUT AGAIN, ENOUGH FORESIGHT TO UNDERSTAND. LISTEN WE PUT THAT STUFF DOWN TO SPEND A LOT OF MONEY. IT MAY NOT MAKE IT GOING AROUND THE WATER IN THE POND LINGER STOPPED. SO, UM ANGELA, WHO'S NEW WITH US HAS BEEN KEEPING ALL MY STUFF STRAIGHT, AND SHE'S VOLUNTEERED. SHE HAS PUT A TON OF WORK INTO THE EVENTS, TOO. SO I CAN'T TAKE HIM IN SICILY AND ALYSSA'S NEW ALL DOING A GREAT JOB, SO AS THIS FISCAL YEAR IS COMING TO AN END, I WANT TO MAKE SURE THEY GET RECOGNITION. YOU GUYS HEAR FROM ME A LOT. YOU GET MY EMAILS. I'M UP HERE, YOU KNOW. TALK TALK TALK. BUT THESE ARE THE FOLKS THAT ARE DOING UPON THE SCENE.

SO JUST PLEASE MAKE SURE PUT HIM ON THE BACK OR SOMETHING. THANK YOU OR SOMETHING SO UM, FREEDOM BEST. PRETTY BEST WAS LAST WEEKEND RIGHT NOW. BEFORE LAST WHAT'S THE DAY? OKAY? DON'T EVEN KNOW. SEPTEMBER 2ND LABOR DAY WEEKEND. UM, HAD ABOUT 2000 PEOPLE ATTEND. LIKE I SAID, YOU KNOW WHAT GOES ON. I DON'T WANT TO PAINT A BAD PICTURE. IT WAS A GREAT EVENT. WE HAD GREAT TURNOUT. ENTERTAINMENT WAS FUN. WE ACTUALLY CAUGHT A LITTLE BREAK ON THE WEATHER. IT WAS STILL HOT DURING THE DAY AND SET UP, BUT, YEAH, WELL, CLOUD COVER. AND PEOPLE ARE JUST GOING CRAZY OUT THERE WITH THE MUSIC DANCING, SINGING ALONG SO REALLY A LOT OF FUN. WE ARE WE WERE LOOKED AT MY BUDGET TODAY AND LOOKS LIKE WE GOT FUNDING TO DO IT AGAIN NEXT YEAR, SO MORE TO COME ON A DATE AND WE'LL MOVE FORWARD FROM THERE. OTHER THINGS. THOSE OF YOU THAT HAVE BEEN ON THE BOARD FOR A LITTLE BIT HAVE KNOWN WE'VE BEEN GOING THROUGH THE ACCREDITATION PROCESS. YOU HEAR THAT, PROBABLY AT NAUSEUM. SO WE'RE 99.9% SURE WE'VE GOT THE ACCREDITATION. ON OCTOBER 11TH. WELL, FIRST OF ALL, WE BACK UP. YOU ALL KNOW BARBARA KETONE. BARBARA WAS OUR CAPRA COORDINATOR WAS BROUGHT IN TO HELP US WITH THAT. BARBARA AND I ON OCTOBER. 9TH WHICH IS A MONDAY WILL GO DOWN FOR THE FORMALLY HEARING. SO BACK UP MORE NRP NATIONAL RECREATION PARK ASSOCIATION. NATIONAL OUR NATIONAL ORGANIZATION. THEY DO AN ANNUAL CONFERENCE EVERY YEAR.

UM OBVIOUSLY CONFERENCE AND BUT IT'S ALL OVER THE UNITED STATES. SO THIS YEAR JUST HAPPENS TO BE IN DALLAS, WHICH SYNC UP NICELY WITH THIS, SO WE'RE GONNA GET STAFF DOWN TO PARTICIPATING AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. BUT I ALSO WANT TO INVITE YOU ALL TO OCTOBER 11TH, WHICH IS A WEDNESDAY EVENING AT SIX O'CLOCK BAILEY CONVICTION CENTER. THEY'RE GOING TO BASICALLY HONOR ANNOUNCED. I'M NOT EXACTLY SURE THEY'RE THE BEST OF THE BEST CEREMONY. ALL THE PEOPLE THAT ARE GONNA RECEIVE THEIR ACCREDITATION. SO WE'VE BEEN TOLD THE GOOD EXTEND AN INVITATION, SO THAT'S HOW WE FEEL GOOD ABOUT IT. UM COUNCILS INVITED YOU ALL ARE INVITED. SO JUST LET US KNOW IF YOU'RE INTERESTED AGAIN. IT'S DOWNTOWN SIX O'CLOCK. I KNOW THAT'S THAT'S NOT EASY AGAIN. NOT EXPECTATION IS NOT THAT YOU'D BE THERE. JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE YOU KNOW YOU'RE INVITED AS PART OF THIS ORGANIZATION, SO UM SO IT WORKS OUT ABOUT THAT. SO IF YOU WANT TO GET OR YOU HAVE QUESTIONS, YOU CAN REACH OUT TO MIRROR ANGELA AND WE'LL GET YOU THE DETAILS. WE'RE STILL GETTING THE DETAILS. OTHER THAN WE KNOW WHAT TIME AND KIND OF WHERE IT'S AT THE BUILDING. IT'S A BIG BUILDING, SO UM BUT BECAUSE OF THAT THAT FALLS ON THE SAME WEEK AS THE NEXT PARKS BOARD MEETING .
