[2. Consider and act upon the minutes of the July 13, 2023 Parks and Recreation Board meeting.]

UPON THE MINUTES OF THE JULY 13TH. PARKS AND REC BOARD MEETING. DO YOU HAVE ONE AMENDMENT THAT I'D LIKE TO BRING UP? LOOKS LIKE OUR VOTES IN HERE WERE TALLIED. AS SEVEN OWES. WE HAD SIX MEMBERS PRESENT, SO IT SHOULD BE 60. SO IN CASE ANYBODY DEMANDS A RECOUNT ON THE VICE CHAIR. VOTE WILL HAVE SIX. SO IT'S AN ACCURATE NUMBER. THAT WAS A JOKE. THANK YOU. ANY OTHER AMENDMENTS TO THE MINUTES. DO I HEAR A MOTION TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES AS AMENDED? THE MOUNTAIN MOTION FROM KIM BOB'S HAND, GO UP AND ASSUME THAT'S A SECOND. ALL IN FAVOR WITH AN EYE AND A VISUAL. I POSED MINUTES ARE ACCEPTED AS AMENDED. AH! AH I DON'T SEE ANY PUBLIC JOINING US IN PERSON. DO WE HAVE ANY PUBLIC? LOGGED IN. WE DO NOT ALL RIGHT. YOU CAN DOES IT HAPPEN

[4. Receive staff updates: Recreation, Park Development, Park Operations, and Director.]

THAT STAFF UPDATES. MR AN OFF WITH RECREATION AND. THE STAFF MEMBER FORMERLY KNOWN AS MATT FOR TREVOR HILTON. CHANGE IT UP ON THE BULLET TONIGHT, OKAY? OKAY I WANTED TO BEFORE TREVOR COMES UP AND REGALES YOU WITH EVERYTHING HE WAS DOING, WHICH IS A TON. UM SCOTT, I WANT TO GIVE YOU A QUICK UPDATE ON CHROME AND COFFEE ARE SKINNY COFFEE AND CHROME, UH, FROM A COUPLE OF WEEKENDS AGO, WE HAD A GREAT TURNOUT. INITIALLY WE WERE RIGHT AROUND THE MID EIGHTIES HIGH EIGHTIES ON CARS HAD A FEW NOT SHOW BUT HAD A FEW DRIVES UP AND WANTED TO BE A PART OF IT.

SO UH, WE WERE ABLE TO QUICKLY GET THEM REGISTERED AND SIGNED A WAIVER AND CHECK THEM IN, UM, WAS REALLY A PRETTY NICE LINEUP. WE WERE VERY, VERY PLEASED. IF YOU'D ASKED ME A MONTH BEFORE I WOULD HAVE TOLD YOU IF I GOT 25 30 CARS HAVE BEEN REALLY HAPPY. SO WE HAD ABOUT 90. WHEN WE DID THE DID ACCOUNT WALKED AROUND, IT WAS UPPER EIGHTIES. AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN, MORE CARS WERE POPPING IN. SO WE'RE GOING WITH 90. WE THINK WE HAD APPROXIMATELY 500 PEOPLE.

THERE'S NOT TICKETED, AND WE DIDN'T HAVE A TURNSTILE TO COUNT , BUT JUST YOU WOULD LOOK FROM TIME TO TIME. KIM WAS THERE CAN AND HER HUSBAND WERE SHOWING THEIR CARS SO GOOD. WE GOT A LITTLE LUCKY. SO WE GET THERE IN THE MORNING WORDS STAFF WERE THERE BEFORE SIX. BY WE GOT THERE. FIVE SO WE START CHECKING IN CARS AT SIX AND ABOUT 6 15 THE HEAVENS OPEN UP. SO IT'S NOT A FASTER WAY TO KILL A CAR SHOW THAN THE DOWNPOUR. NOBODY WANTS TO GET THERE. THEY'RE PRETTY CARS WET. BUT THAT BLEW THROUGH AFTER ABOUT FIVE MINUTES, AND THEN THINGS COOLED OFF, WHICH WAS KIND OF NICE COOLED OFF, BUT UM SO REALLY, UH, WAS IT WAS A GREAT SHOW. WE HAVE SOME GREAT PARTNERS. 14 18 COFFEE CAME OVER. THEY SERVED SIX OR SEVEN. BIG YEAH. NO CHARGE OF THE TOWN.

THEY DID THAT ALL PRO BONO FOR NEST THEM, UH, PROSPER. WINEHOUSE CAME OUT AND THEY WERE THEY WERE SELLING MIMOSAS FOR THE ADULTS AND THEN THE JINN HAD DONATED 100 AND 70. BREAKFAST TACOS. SO SOME REALLY NICE GOOD GOOD PARTNERSHIPS REFORMING WITH OR DOWNTOWN EVENTS AND SO WE'RE EXCITED. THEY'RE THEY'RE HAPPY MAKES US HAPPY. AND WHAT? WHAT THE PURPOSE OF THESE DISCOVERED

[00:05:05]

DOWNTOWN EVENTS HAVE BEEN FUNDED TO DO IS WORKING. WE THINK SO. PEOPLE ARE COMING DOWNTOWN.

THEY'RE GOING OVER THESE AH! BUSINESSES SO WE'RE WE'RE VERY HAPPY WE'RE GOING TO KEEP DOING THEM. UM WE DID GIVE FOR A 2ND 3RD AWARDS OF KINSEY KINGSTON. FIRST PLACE DOESN'T SHOW RANDY JACKSON'S SECOND PLACE WITH HIS 67 CHEVY C. 10. AND BETTY HUGHES , WHO SOME OF YOU MAY KNOW THAT NAME. BROUGHT UP BROUGHT OUT HER. HUSBANDS CHEVY TRUCK, SO SHE WAS CALLED TO SEE THAT UH, BUT REALLY OVERALL GREAT EXPERIENCE AND WE WILL PLAN ON DOING AGAIN. I WANT TO SAY TALK ABOUT BANG FOR THE BUCK. CAITLYN SPENT 300 BUCKS. SO WE DID THAT ALL EVENT FOR ABOUT THAT NOW WE HAD WE HAD STUFF DONATED AND BUT WE WERE VERY, VERY HAPPY WITH THE TURNOUT AND THE IMPACT OF THE TOWN. SO IT WAS. IT WAS. IT WAS A GOOD GOOD SHOW FOR US. SO WITH THAT, LET ME BRING UP TRAVEL.

GOOD EVENING PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD. UM SO THE NUMBER THREE THIRD DOWNTOWN DISCOVERED DOWNTOWN. EVENT IS OUR MOONLIGHT MOVIE AGAIN. THIS WAS RESCHEDULED FROM MARCH 31.

DUE TO HIGH WINDS. UM SO THIS WAS THE DATE THAT WE DECIDED TO RESCHEDULE FOUR. SO TODAY IS AUGUST 10TH. TOMORROW IS THE EVENT. UM VERY SHOWING THE SAME MOVIE AS WE HAD ADVERTISED IN MARCH. THE HEDGEHOG TOO. WILL BE PROVIDING, UM REFRESHMENTS, ALL COMPLIMENTARY POPCORN SHAVED ICE. YOU KNOW, WE'LL HAVE FACE PAINTERS, BALLOON ARTIST YARD GAMES. AND JUST TO KIND OF, UM, WE WANTED TO KIND OF GET AHEAD OF THIS, BECAUSE OBVIOUSLY, YOU KNOW IT IS HOT, AND IT'S TRIPLE DIGITS EVERY SINGLE DAY. SO WE'VE MADE AN EFFORT TO. REALLY UM WE'RE GOING TO HAVE SOME.

WE'RE GONNA HAVE MORE SHADE STRUCTURES MORE TENSE OUT THERE . MR WE'RE GONNA HAVE COMPLEMENTED WATER FOR EVERYONE. AND THE LITTLE THE NECK THINGS THAT YOU GET WET AROUND YOUR NECK. UM, SO WE ARE PREPARED IF THERE ARE ANY ISSUES WITH PEOPLE BEING HOT AND THINGS LIKE THAT.

UM SO WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO IT. UM GETS GOING SEVEN PM AND IT'S GOING TO BE RIGHT OUTSIDE HERE THIS LAWN SO THE MOVIE WILL BE OUT THERE, UM, HOPING TO GET A GOOD CROWD, BUT WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS ONE. AND, YOU KNOW, HOPEFULLY THIS IS THE FIRST TIME WE DID ON SATURDAY LAST YEAR, SO HOPEFULLY FRIDAY NIGHT. MAYBE SOMETHING WE CAN START MIXING IN THERE. I'M NOT HAVE ALL THE EVENTS ON SATURDAYS. SO HOPEFULLY THIS WILL BE ONE THAT WE CAN KIND OF KIND OF BEING AN ANNUAL THING. YOU KNOW, THERE'S A BIG USUALLY A BIG DRAW WHENEVER YOU DO THE BIG INFLATABLE MOVIES, SO BE OUT ON THE LAWN TRADED FOR ANTS AND EVERYTHING LIKE THAT. SO WE'VE KIND OF TAKEN ALL THE DIFFERENT PRECAUTIONS WHEN IT WOULD COME TO HAVING AN OUTDOOR EVENT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE IT'S GOING TO BE THAT WINDY. SO, UM WE'RE READY TO ROLL. AND THEN THE FOURTH AND FINAL DISCOVER DOWNTOWN SERIES. LIKE WE DID LAST YEAR. AROUND THE SAME TIME , SEPTEMBER, UM, PAUSE ON BROADWAY. SO THIS IS A DOG LOVER EVENT. UM, ME HOSTING IT OFF THE BROADWAY. 11 A.M. TO TWO SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 9TH AND THIS IS JUST ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY TO YOU. IF WE'VE KIND OF NOTICE A THEME WITH ALL OF THESE EVENTS WERE GOING TO DIFFERENT KINDS OF POPULATIONS FOR EACH ONE TO THE CAR EVENT, TRYING TO GET SOME OF THE CAR PEOPLE IN THEIR, UM, FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT. THIS ONE THE DOG LOVERS, SO THIS IS KIND OF IT WAS A BIG SUCCESS LAST YEAR, SO WE'RE LOOKING TO CONTINUE THAT. UM, WILL HAVE TREATS GAMES OUT THEIR COMPETITION AND WE ARE ACCEPTING EXHIBITORS RIGHT NOW. TYPICALLY WOULD PREFER PET RELATED PRODUCTS, PET RELATED VENDORS, BUT IF IT MAKES SENSE WE LOVE TO HAVE YOU KNOW THE MORE VENDORS THE BETTER AT THESE THINGS. UM LIKE I SAID, 11 TO 2 . SO PLEASE, IF YOU OWN A DOG. COME OUT, AND THEN WE'D BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO, UM PROVIDE ENTERTAINMENT FOR THE CANINES. OKAY, SO MAYORS FITNESS

[00:10:03]

CHALLENGE. WE ARE IN THE LAST MONTH OF THE SUMMER SESSION. VALERIE. GAME SHOW IT OFF. IT'S ALRIGHT. WE BROUGHT THE SHIRT OUT HERE. UM APPRECIATE IT. THANKS FOR BRINGING IT. MHM SO THAT'S THAT'S THE FRUITS OF THE LABOR OVER THERE. YES CHALLENGE COMPLETED. UM SO WE'VE BEEN WORKING WITH DIFFERENT COMMUNITY PARTNERS. UM A FEW ORANGE THEORY. FITNESS SPANGLES, SWEAT, 60, INFRARED. AND SO AGAIN WHAT ? WE WERE THE MISSION FOR THE SUMMER SESSION WAS REALLY OBVIOUSLY WITH IT BEING HUNDREDS TRIPLE DIGIT TEMPERATURES NOT TRYING TO ENCOURAGE GOING OUTSIDE, RUNNING, BIKING. I MEAN, WE'RE NOT GONNA YOU KNOW WHAT I'M GONNA SAY. DON'T DO IT, BUT THIS IS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR EDUCATION AND OPPORTUNITY FOR US TO GET PROVIDE COMPLEMENTARY THE THEMES FOR FITNESS, WHETHER IT'S WELLNESS. UH IF YOU SEE IN THE PICTURE HERE FROM OUR NOT OUR BUT CERTIFIED NUTRITIONIST LIN LIN HEART, UM, SHE PUT ON A COMPLEMENTARY NUTRITION WORKSHOP HAD ABOUT 30 PEOPLE IN ATTENDANCE. AND SO THIS WAS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR HER TO KIND OF, UM YOU KNOW, IT'S AN HOUR LONG CLASS. UM JUST KIND OF. EDUCATE YOU KNOW A LOT OF PEOPLE WHEN YOU THINK FITNESS YOU'RE ALWAYS THINKING, YOU KNOW, WORKING OUT DOING EXERCISE THINGS LIKE THAT.

NUTRITION IS A VERY BIG PART. UM SO THAT WAS A SUCCESS. AND THEN ALSO WE'VE HAD A FEW. WE'VE HAD A FEW, UH, VIDEOS OUT THERE, SO THE MAYOR DID THE VIDEO WITH THE LIBRARY TO MAKE SURE TO, UM, SHOW THAT THERE'S AN EDUCATIONAL ASPECT TO IT. AND WE HAVE ANOTHER VIDEO THAT BECOMING UP WITH MAYOR BRISTLE, ACTUALLY, UM, GOING OUT TO ONE OF THE ONE OF THE BUSINESSES THAT I HAD MENTIONED. SO HASN'T BEEN RELEASED YET, SO I DON'T WANT TO TAKE ANY TAKING THUNDER AWAY.

THEIR UM, LAST TIME WE CHECKED, WE WERE SITTING RIGHT OVER 82 SUMMER REGISTRATIONS. SO WE HAVE SOME GIVEAWAYS NEXT WEEK. WE'RE DOING A DRAWING FOR, UM. SOME GIVE AWAYS FROM SPAGNA, SO AND THEN ALSO WE HAVE ABOUT 30, I THINK 35 AND SWEAT 60 INFRARED PROVIDED A FREE WEEK OF CLASSES.

SO YOU BRING THAT IN THERE? TELL HIM THAT YOU'VE REGISTERED. TELL ME THAT THE MAYOR CENA'S CHALLENGE. CAREFREE WEEK AND THEN SEE IF YOU LIKE IT. IF YOU DO, MAYBE DO A LITTLE MORE. IF YOU DON'T YOU GOT A FREE WEEKEND OF IT. SO UH, ONCE WE GET THROUGH THE SUMMER SESSION, WE'RE GONNA GET GOING ON THE FALL IN THE FALL. THEN WE'RE BACK TO TRACKING MINUTES. WE'RE DOING IT'S 75 MINUTES PER WEEK. AND THEN THIS WILL ALSO LEAD UP TO THE END OF THE CAMPAIGN.

WHERE WE'LL HAVE A GRAND PRIZE WINNER. AND THIS WILL GET RECOGNITION AT THE COUNCIL MEETING. MAYOR BRISTOL IS GOING TO PROVIDE THEM WITH HIS CHALLENGE COIN. SO UM, VERY EXCITED ABOUT THAT. AND THEN, UM , WE HAD A YOUNG LADY IT'S NOT PICTURED HERE, BUT A YOUNG LADY, UM KHLOE. UH I CANNOT REMEMBER HER LAST THING TO SAVE MY LIFE COMPANY WHEN I CAN SIT DOWN, BUT SHE WON THE IT WAS A PAIR OF BLUETOOTH BEATS. UM EARBUDS WORK OUT WITH MUCH NICER THAN ANYTHING I OWN. UM AND SO SHE SHE WON AND I DID RECORD ZOE CHLOE PHILLIPS. ZOE FILMS ANYWAYS, SHE WON, UM AND I'VE NOTICED THE PARTICIPATE IN THIS EVENT FOR THE PAST TWO OR THREE YEARS, SO IT'S REALLY COOL TO SEE HER WIN. AND SHE WAS VERY EXCITED. UM, JUST READY TO SHOW IT OFF TO HER FRIENDS. SO UM, IF THERE'S INTEREST THERE, WE DEFINITELY ENCOURAGE COMPETING IN THIS AND, UM, LOOKING FORWARD TO ONE MORE SESSION OF IT. OKAY SO, UM LAST WEEK. WRAPPED UP OUR SUMMER PROGRAMS ARE SUMMER CAMPS. UM THERE'S SOME PICTURES HERE OF JUST KIND OF A BUNCH OF DIFFERENT ACTIVITIES. YOU'LL SEE THESE THREE YOUNG LADIES HERE THEY PARTICIPATE IN A KID'S NEWS CHANNEL CLASS, SO I GAVE THEM OPPORTUNITY TO, UM YOU KNOW, EXHIBIT THEIR TALENTS. WE HAVE OUR FIRST, UM ART CLASS WITH WITH AMANDA, UM, AND THEN DOWN HERE WE HAVE A YOUNG MAN WHO IS CONSTRUCTING WHAT LOOKS LIKE TO BE A CATAPULT. SO THIS IS JUST KIND OF THE DIFFERENT PROGRAMS THAT WE OFFERED THROUGHOUT THE SUMMER. UM 987 TOTAL PARTICIPANTS SO HAVEN'T QUITE GOTTEN TO THAT 1000 RANGE YET, BUT NEXT SUMMER, THAT'S THE NUMBER. WE'RE GONNA PUSH FOR TWO CLIPS. UM 20 DIFFERENT PROGRAMS AND WITH TOTAL 62 TOTAL CLASSES , JUST BASICALLY SOME PROGRAMS.

[00:15:05]

THEY RUN TWO OR THREE CLASSES THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SUMMER. UM BIG THANK YOU TO OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY PARTNERS RAISE MIDDLE CHURCH AND ST PAUL'S EPISCOPAL, ESPECIALLY UM, WHAT WE DO IS WE TRY AND REACH OUT TO OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS TO PROVIDE FACILITY SPACE. UM, WE DON'T HAVE AN INDOOR BASKETBALL COURT RIGHT NOW. BUT BEING ABLE TO WORK WITH THESE, UM DIFFERENT GROUPS, THEY PROVIDE THOSE FACILITIES FORCE AND WE'RE ABLE TO PROVIDE THESE DIFFERENT PROGRAMS. UM, SO BIG. THANK YOU TO THEM. AND ALSO I WANTED TO MENTION, UM OUR RECREATION COORDINATOR OVER PROGRAMS CECILY FANNIN. SHE DID A FANTASTIC JOB GOING TO TEXAS HEALTH. AND UM, CREATING A PARTNERSHIP WITH THEM BECAUSE WE HAVE A VERY POPULAR TAEKWONDO CLASS. IT WAS GOING TO THE POINT WHERE SO POPULAR THAT THE WAITING LIST WAS JUST BUILDING UP AT 407. REALLY CAN'T GET MORE THAN 12 KIDS IN THERE FOR TAEKWONDO CLASS. UM SO SHE WAS ABLE TO MAKE A CONNECTION WITH THEM. WE WORKED OUT AN AGREEMENT. SO THE USAGE AGREEMENT AND SO WE STARTED THIS WEEK, ACTUALLY, SO THAT'S JUST ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY TO PARTNER WITH A LOCAL ORGANIZATION THAT CAN PROVIDE SOME FACILITY SPACE. UM JUST MAKING SURE THAT WE CAN TAKE SOME MORE. ENROLLMENTS IN THERE AND BE ABLE TO KIND OF THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX AND PROGRAMS THAT WE HAVEN'T DONE BEFORE. SO, UM KUDOS TO SICILY FOR THAT. TREVOR ON. KIND OF RECAPPING ON THE OTHER PROGRAMS . 9 87 PARTICIPANTS 20 PROGRAM 62 CLASSES. WHAT'S THE DELTA BETWEEN? YOU KNOW, ACTUAL AND KIND OF LIKE WHAT YOUR GOAL IS OR WHAT? WHERE WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE AT MAY 9 1987 1000 KIDS. I MEAN, IS THAT I DON'T KNOW WHAT GOOD IS THAT BAD IS THAT UM AND GREAT QUESTION. UM, SO LAST YEAR WE WERE WRITING THAT 900 RANGE AS WELL. UM WHAT DAN AND MYSELF AND CECILY ACTUALLY, WHAT WE'RE GOING TO BE WORKING ON IS PRESENTING A LIKE A RECREATION REPORT. SO WHEN CAN TAKE A LOOK AT? YOU KNOW, OVER THE YEARS? WHAT ARE THOSE NUMBERS LOOK LIKE? ARE WE INCREASING PROGRAMS? ARE WE INCREASING PARTICIPANTS? UM SO THAT I MEAN, STAYING IN THE 900 RANGE IS DEFINITELY GOOD WOULD LIKE TO GET OVER 1000 AND THEN CONTINUE TO BUILD OFF OF THAT. BUT THAT IS ONE AREA THAT WE WOULD LIKE TO TRACK AND KIND OF SAY, OKAY. IT KIND OF GOES BACK TO THE RECREATION, UM, PLAN RECREATION PROGRAMMING PLAN. SO NOW WE'RE ABLE TO KIND OF SEE. OKAY? AND JUST THROWING NUMBERS OUT HERE, BUT 15% ARE STEM CLASSES. 25% ARE ATHLETE, YOU KNOW, WE'RE REALLY GOING TO WORK ON PUTTING SOME GRAPHICS TOGETHER TO GIVE YOU AN IDEA OF THE DIFFERENT VARIETY OF CLASSES THAT WE OFFER. UM BUT LIKE I SAID, 9 87 GREAT WANT TO GET OVER 1000 NEXT YEAR, BUT THAT'S SOMETHING THAT WE WILL INCLUDE, AND THEN IN THE FUTURE. WELL WE DON'T HAVE A EXACT MEETING. DESIGNATED THAT WE'RE GOING TO PRESENT THAT, BUT WE WOULD LIKE TO DO SOMETHING ANNUALLY. A QUESTION THAT I HAVE REAL QUICK. THE SUMMER PROGRAMS THEMSELVES. ARE THEY OPEN TO ONLY PROSPER RESIDENTS OR THIS IS MOSTLY CHILDREN. OR CHILDREN WHO ATTEND THE PROSPEROUS SCHOOL DISTRICT. IT'S OPEN TO RESIDENTS AND NONRESIDENTS. OKAY AND THEN , AS FAR AS PRICING GOES, THERE IS NO VARIATION BETWEEN RESIDENT VERSUS NON RESIDENT I PERSONALLY , I DON'T THINK WE'RE QUITE THERE YET. UM, ONCE WE DO GROW AS A PROGRAM, UM THAT'S MAYBE SOMETHING THAT WE CAN TAKE A LOOK AT. UM, BUT RIGHT NOW, WE DO NOT CLOSE OFF TO YOU KNOW, IT'S NOT A RESIDENT VERSUS NONRESIDENT. POSSIBLY UM, YOU KNOW, IN THE FUTURE IF WE WANTED TO DO ONE THING I TALKED ABOUT IS MAYBE EARLY ENROLLMENT FOR RESIDENTS ONLY. SOMETHING WE KIND OF KICKED AROUND. BUT THE NUMBER ONE THING IS WE DON'T WANT TO. LIMIT CAPACITY WE WANT TO BE ABLE TO OFFER IS MANY PROGRAMS AS WE CAN AND NOT BE LIMITED BY RESIDENT VERSUS NON RESIDENT. I MEAN, WE JUST WANT TO PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR SURE. YEAH, I WASN'T HEADING DOWN THE PATH. NO, IT'S ON IT. I WAS THINKING ACTUALLY, POTENTIALLY AN OPPORTUNITY TO EXPAND THAT. YES YES, AND THEN TYPICALLY, UM WHEN PROGRAMS GROW BIGGER THERE, YOU DIDN'T GET INTO THE DIFFERENT RATES OF RESIDENT PERSONAL RESIDENT AND I UNDERSTAND YOU WEREN'T GOING DOWN THAT ROAD, BUT YEAH, NO, WE OPEN IT TO EVERYONE. TREVOR ANOTHER QUESTION, AND IT'S NOT UM NOT LIKE A MONEY GRAB. BUT TO

[00:20:01]

BE MAYBE REFLECTIVE OF MAYOR BRISTOL ON THE TOWN COUNCIL. I I'M LOOKING DOWN HERE AHEAD OF MEETING ABOUT THIS THIS MORNING BUT TO ACCELERATE INFRASTRUCTURE. ARE THERE ANY PROGRAMS? ARE THERE ANY GRANTS? ARE THERE ANY FUNDS? AVAILABLE THROUGH AGENCIES OR ASSOCIATIONS THAT CAN HELP GROW SUMMER PROGRAMS. WE'VE NEVER IN THE PAST. WE'VE NEVER, UM TAKING ADVANTAGE OF ANY KIND OF GRANTS OR PROGRAMS, AND THAT'S SOMETHING THAT WE CAN DEFINITELY LOOK INTO BECAUSE OF THE BUT THERE'S FREE MONEY SITTING THERE . WHY NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT? UM BUT IN THE PAST TYPICALLY ARE GRANTS HAVE ONLY BEEN FOR IF I'M WRONG PARTS OPERATIONS PROJECTS AND YEAH, AND BOB. SO THE ANSWER IS ARE THEY OUT THERE? YEAH. THERE ARE A LITTLE THERE'S A LITTLE MORE DRILLING DOWN. YOU HAVE TO DO TO GET TO SOME OF THESE PROGRAMS BASED THINGS. UM WE ALSO WHAT IS GREAT ABOUT THIS COMMUNITY ALSO HAMSTRINGS US A LITTLE BIT. WE ARE IN AFFLUENT COMMUNITY. SO WHEN YOU START LOOKING AT PROGRAMMING SOMETIMES THAT GETS IN OUR WAY, YOU KNOW, UM NOT SO MUCH WITH CAPITAL PROJECTS AND THINGS ARE BUT. YEAH I THINK WE WILL CONTINUE TO LOOK FOR OPPORTUNITIES. UH BUT I CAN TELL YOU AND I KNOW KURT'S THINKING IT RIGHT NOW. WE'RE DEALING WITH THE GREEN RIBBON PROJECT RIGHT NOW IN CURL. GIVE US AN UPDATE. THERE IS NO FREE MONEY OUT THERE YOU GRANTS GRANTS ARE GREAT, AND SOMETIMES IT GIVES YOU A VERY GOOD OPPORTUNITY TO ACCELERATE. SOMETHING. BUT YOU ALSO HAVE TO HAVE THE RESOURCES TO MANAGE THOSE GRANTS AND TO GO AFTER AND, UM SO SOMETIMES SOMETIMES, DEPENDING ON HOW BIG THE GRANT IS, UH, I COULD ARGUE THAT THERE ARE OCCASIONS OUT THERE WHERE YOU MIGHT BE BETTER OFF. NOT THINKING THAT GRAND. THAT'S THAT'S THAT'S SOLELY MY OPINION. WE DO WE DO. LOOK FOR GRANTS FOR EVERYTHING. SO I CAN JUST FOR THE RECORD. I HAVE NOT TURNED DOWN ANY GRANTS, BUT UM, AND THAT AGAIN. SOMETIMES STAFF WILL TELL YOU YEAH. SOMETIMES WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE HOURS THEY HAVE TO PUT IN IN THE MEETINGS AND, UM WHEN YOU'RE ESPECIALLY YOU'RE DEALING WITH LARGE FEDERALLY FUNDED GROUPS. I WON'T MENTION TEXT THAT I WOULD NEVER MENTIONED TAX TIME. BUT UM, UH, WE YOU KNOW WE HAVE SOME CHALLENGES THERE RIGHT NOW, BUT WE'VE ALSO DONE GREAT. WE'VE ALSO, UH WE HAD HELPED WITH OUR DEVELOPMENT SERVICES GROUP. ACQUIRE I THINK IT WAS 200 ALMOST $150,000. AND IT WAS FOR UM AH. YOU NEED THE. CONGREVE HIGH SCHOOL, THE TRAIL AND UNDERPASS IF YOU WILL, AND UNDERNEATH FIRST STREET. SO YEAH, THERE ARE OPPORTUNITIES OUT THERE AND WE'LL CONTINUE TO LOOK FOR HIM. UM WE JUST HAVE RIGHT NOW FOR OUR PROGRAMS. UM, YOU YOU'RE LOOKING AT TWO OF THE THREE PEOPLE THAT RAN SUMMER. PROGRAMS AND, UH WE OFFER QUITE A BIT AND YET 9 87 IS A GOOD NUMBER FOR THIS COMMUNITY. YOU KNOW, WE'RE RIGHT AROUND 40,000 PEOPLE. I'VE BEEN TOLD. I'VE BEEN WARNED AND SAID, HEY, DON'T EXPECT A LOT THIS SUMMER BECAUSE A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE OPEN OUT. GETTING OUT OF THE HEAT OR JUST GOING OTHER PLACES FOR VACATIONS OR EXTENDED STAYS. UM SO, SO THAT'S THAT'S A GREAT NUMBER. AND, UH, YEAH, WE'RE PROUD OF IT. AND BUT, YES, WE WILL CONTINUE TO LOOK FOR OTHER OPPORTUNITIES. I THINK AS WE GROW, UM THE NEXT. THE NEXT BOMB PROGRAM WILL WILL TELL A LOT IF WE DO IF WE'RE ABLE TO GET A REC CENTER, WE'RE HOPING WE DO. AH! THAT OPENS UP SOME OPPORTUNITIES FOR US AS WELL. YES, SIR.

DEFINITELY WORTH LOOKING INTO IT AS WELL. THANK YOU. WELL SO AS SUMMER ENDS, FALL BEGINS, SO WE CURRENTLY HAVE BALL REGISTRATION OPEN. UM MAJORITY OF OUR CLASSES . THE EARLIEST CLASS START WILL BE AUGUST 28TH. AND UM, THE REST . YOU KNOW, IT'S KIND OF STAGGERED. THE REST WILL START IN SEPTEMBER. SO RIGHT NOW, I DO NOT HAVE AN UPDATED NUMBER, BUT, UM, HOW BY THE NEXT PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD MEETING. WILL HAVE UPDATED NUMBER OF HOW MANY PARTICIPANTS WE HAVE, BECAUSE TYPICALLY EVERYTHING'S KIND OF ROLLING. UM ONCE IT GETS GOING, THERE'S SOME FALL. WE ALWAYS CAN'T FALL TO FALL SESSION TO. TYPICALLY THOSE WILL GET GOING BEGINNING OCTOBER. SO WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT. AND I'M SURE MATT WAS HERE. HE WOULD TELL YOU, YOU KNOW, WE GOT OUR FALSE SPORTS STARTING UP. UM PRACTICES JUST STARTED. SO IT'S A COMBINATION OF THE INDOOR CAMPS AND PROGRAMS AND SOME OF THE OUTDOOR ATHLETICS. SO YEAH, WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO ANOTHER FALSE SEASON. AND I ALSO WANTED TO LET YOU ALL KNOW THAT WE WERE FORTUNATE ENOUGH. TO BE GRANTED

[00:25:07]

A MIDYEAR POSITION FULL TIME POSITION. UM SO WE HAVE MADE A HIGHER HER NAME IS ALYSSA BOY, AND SHE WILL BE STARTING ON AUGUST 28TH. ALYSSA IS GOING TO BE KIND OF I HATE USING THE WORD HYBRID, BUT SHE WILL BE WORKING ON PROGRAMS AND. WITH SPECIAL EVENTS AS WELL. SO AS YOU KNOW, WE CONTINUE TO GROW. WE GET MORE EVENTS MORE PROGRAMS. IT'S JUST GONNA HELP STAFF OUT SO WE'RE EXCITED. AND, UM HAPPY TO HAVE HER ON. THANK YOU. THANK YOU, TREVOR. THE ELEGANT THANK YOU FOR COMING OUT ON SUCH A VERY WARM SUMMER EVENING. CONGREVE PARK. THE CONTRACTOR IS ABOUT 60% COMPLETE WITH REPAIRS TO THE RETAINING WALL IS AT THE NORTH END OF THE POND. YOU CAN SEE IN THE PHOTO THERE. THEY STILL GOT SOMETHING TO DO. PARTIES WAS TELLING ME THEY HAVEN'T FINISHED. WHATEVER THAT THING IS DOWN THERE, CIRCLE AND RED. I'M NOT EVEN SURE MYSELF. BUT THEN I'VE BEEN SO BUSY WITH EVERYTHING ELSE. BUT PARTIES HAS BEEN ON TOP OF THIS, AND THEN ONCE THEY GET THAT DONE, THEY'LL HAVE TO COME IN AND PUT THE NEW RAILING ON TOP, SO THEY'RE GETTING CLOSE. THE REPLACEMENT PUMP THAT WE'VE BEEN REPORTING TO YOU THAT FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS, IT'S IN PLACE. IT'S FULLY OPERATIONAL, SO CONTRACTOR IS NOW WORKING THEIR WAY AROUND THE PARK EVERYWHERE WHERE THEY DIDN'T DIGGING OR GRADING WORK. THEY'RE CHECKING TO MAKE SURE THAT THE LEAKS ARE REPAIRED. SO ONCE WE'VE WORKED IN THE ENTIRE SYSTEM, AND ALL THE LEAKS HAVE BEEN REPAIRED, AND IT'S TIME FOR THEM TO START PUTTING SOLID DOWN, SO I'M HOPING THAT BY NEXT MONTH I CAN TELL YOU THAT THE PROJECT IS COMPLETED FULLY, SO WE'RE GETTING REALLY CLOSE. I THINK WE MENTIONED BEFORE ABOUT THE WHOLE WE DON'T WANT TO DE WATER THE POND TO THE POINT WHERE IT BECOMES A CRISIS, SO WE'LL JUST KIND OF WATCH AND SEE WHEN THEY'RE DONE CHECKING THE IRRIGATION AND MAYBE WE MAKE HIM WAIT A WEIRD WEEK OR TWO. BEFORE WE START PUTTING THE SIDE DOWN POLICY. WE JUST DON'T WANT TO CREATE A SITUATION WITH A POND. WHICH ONE IS IT? DID THE RIGHT ONE, OKAY? LIQUID PRESERVE PARK, SO WE OPENED FIVE BIDS ON JULY 18TH AND, UH, THE LOWEST BASED BID WAS OVER BUDGET. BUT WE'VE BEEN WORKING THROUGH THIS. DAN AND I HAVE BEEN MEETING WITH THE HEINZ PEOPLE. AND DAN HAS BEEN WORKING A LOT WITH ROBIN AND FINANCE TO TRY TO GET ENOUGH.

WE'RE TRYING TO PUT THE FUNDING TOGETHER. BEFORE AND SO AFTER I FINISHED THE SLIDE. I THINK IT WAS YESTERDAY MORNING. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT RATLIFF HARDSCAPE WON THE BED, SO THEY'RE THE PEOPLE THAT ARE DOING THE WORK AT PECAN GROVE. THERE ARE GOOD CONTRACTOR DAN AND I HAVE WORKED WITH HIM FOR YEARS IN RICHARDSON IN HERE, SO WE FEEL COMFORTABLE ABOUT THAT.

SO NOW IT'S TIMES IS THOSE GUYS . IT'S THEIR TIME NOW TO START DOING WHAT THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO BE DOING FOR US. THEY'RE MANAGING THIS PROJECT. SO THEY HAVE A SCHEDULED MEETING NEXT TUESDAY WITH RATLIFF. AND SO WE'RE ALL GOING TO SIT DOWN AND WE'RE GONNA START. WE'RE GOING TO NEGOTIATE WITH THEM AND FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET THIS THING WITHIN BUDGET. SO HOPEFULLY, WE'LL HAVE SOME MORE POSITIVE INFORMATION TO GIVE YOU GUYS NEXT MONTH. WE'RE WORKING THROUGH IT AND BASED ON THIS. WE THINK IT'S HEINZ WILL MANAGE IT . WE THINK IT'S GONNA BE 12 MONTH CONSTRUCTION PHASE SO HOPEFULLY, WE'LL BE WRAPPING UP ABOUT THIS TIME. NEXT IN THE NEXT, WHICH WOULD YOU JUST QUICKLY EXPLAIN THEM? WHY WE CAN NEGOTIATE THIS ONE? OKAY SO, YEAH. SO THE TYPE OF FAMILIAR YOU ARE WITH THE BID PROCESS THAT WE USE. SOMETIMES THERE'S SOMETHING CALLED A STRAIGHT UP COMPETITIVE BID FOR YOU. JUST LOOK AT THE NUMBERS, THE LOADED ONES THAT THE PROCESS THAT WE USE FOR THIS IS CALLED A COMPETITIVE SEALED PROPOSAL, SO IT'S STILL SORT OF A LITTLE BIT PROCESS, BUT IT ALLOWS US TO NEGOTIATE WITH THE LOW BID NORMALLY, AND SO WE CAN GO IN THERE AND SAY, WELL, WE CAN YOU COME DOWN ON THIS NUMBER. CAN YOU COME DOWN ON THIS NUMBER WE THINK WE WANT TO. AND SO IT ALLOWS US TO WORK WITH THEM LEGALLY, AND WE CAN HOPEFULLY BRING THE PRICE DOWN. SO THAT'S WHAT WE'RE HOPING TO BE ABLE TO DO. AND I THINK HEINZ HAS, UH, A GOOD RELATIONSHIP WITH RATLIFF, AND THEY WORK WITH THEM ON THIS ON THEIR PROJECTS A LOT, SO I THINK SINCE THEY HAVE A GREAT RELATIONSHIP WITH THEM, WE HAVE A BETTER OPPORTUNITY TO TRY TO GET THEM TO COME DOWN THEIR PRICING. SO I HAD A QUESTION.

UM, COULD YOU EXPLAIN WHO WHAT WHO HINDS IS, I GUESS. I'M SORRY . I THOUGHT OKAY SO HIGH, SO THEY ARE THE DEVELOPERS THAT BUILT THAT ENTIRE NEIGHBORHOOD OUT THERE. SO THAT I MEAN, IF YOU DON'T MIND ME SHARING THIS WITH HIM, I THINK OKAY, SO DAN AND I WE INHERITED THIS SITUATION, BUT APPARENTLY, ARRANGEMENT THAT WAS MADE IS THAT HINDS AND THEY ARE THE DEVELOPER THERE. THEY OWE THE TOWN $599,000 AND SOME CHANGE FOR THEIR PARK FEES. SO ONCE AGAIN DOWN, AND I DIDN'T AGREE ON THIS. THEY ARE IN LIEU OF THAT ALMOST $600,000. THEY ARE MANAGING THIS PROJECT. THEY'RE NOT PAYING FOR IT. WE'RE PAYING FOR IT, AND I SAY WE, THE TOWN OF PROSPEROUS PAYING FOR IT, BUT THEY'RE MANAGING IT FOR US. SO I'M SORRY THAT THAT WASN'T CLEAR. THERE'S JUST I MEAN, THERE'S YOU KNOW, THESE COMPANIES HAVE DIFFERENT NAMES, BUT THEY'RE ESSENTIALLY BEHINDS GROUP. SO THAT'S WHAT WE'RE CALLING. BUT THEY'RE THE ONES

[00:30:03]

THAT BUILT ALL THAT NEIGHBORHOOD. SO AND THAT'S THE ARRANGEMENT. THEN WE'RE GOING TO AND THIS IS WHERE WE'RE GOING TO GET THIS THING BUILT AND WE'RE GOING TO GET IT DONE, AND IT'S GOING TO BE GOOD, BUT I MEAN IT'S TAKEN SOME TROUBLE TO GET THERE. WE'RE GOING TO GET THERE.

RAYMOND COMMUNITY PARK. THERE'S NOT A WHOLE LOT GOING ON THAT OTHER THAN THE FACT THAT WE ARE THE DESIGN CONSULTANT IS MOVING FORWARD WITH DESIGN DEVELOPMENT IN THE BACKGROUND. DAN AND I HAVE HAD SEVERAL MEETINGS WITH THEM AND WITH THE CONSTRUCTION MANAGER WORKING ON JUST GETTING MAKING SURE THAT ARE COSTING US CORRECT. THE HAS BEEN WORKING WITH ROBIN AND FINANCE RIGHT NOW WE ARE WE WHEN THE BUDGET IS GOOD, WE'VE GOT THE MONEY THAT WE NEED. AND SO WE'RE MOVING FORWARD. WE FEEL GOOD ABOUT THIS PROJECT, SO FAR SO GOOD ON THAT ONE. I SHOULD HAVE SOME MORE INTERESTING INFORMATION TO GIVE YOU LIKE THE LATE FALL WHEN THEY START BIDDING OUT THE VARIOUS SECTIONS OF WORK. IT'S DIFFERENT THAN THE KIND OF BID PROCESS I WAS TALKING BEFORE WITH A CONSTRUCTION MANAGER PROCESS. THE CONSTRUCTION MANAGER, WHICH IS DEAN CONSTRUCTION, THEY ACTUALLY, THEY'LL BID DIFFERENT PORTIONS OF THE WORK LIKE THEY SO THE CAN SEE THE PRETTY PICTURE OF THE PROPOSED A RESTROOM FACILITY THERE IN THE CONCESSION BUILDING. THEY'VE BEEN THAT OUT, AND THEN THEY'LL BID OUT ALL THE GRADING WORK AND THEY'VE BEEN OUT ALL THE CONCRETE WORK. THEY MAY STILL PERFORM SO WHEN WE TALK ABOUT TE BID PROCESS. THEY CAN'T DO EVERYTHING THEMSELVES, SO THEY BID OUT DIFFERENT PORTIONS OF IT, AND THEY PUT THE WHOLE THING AS A PACKAGE TOGETHER. EVERYTHING MANAGING FOR US HOPEFULLY WE'LL YOU KNOW THE CURRENT MARKET CONDITIONS WE FIND OURSELVES IN OUR KIND OF CRAZY. SO WE'RE JUST HOPING THAT WE CAN GET WHAT WE THINK WE'RE GOING TO GET FOR THE MONEY THAT WE HAVE SO WE'RE DOING THE BEST WE CAN. DO YOU THINK THAT'S UM I DON'T MEAN TO OPEN UP A CAN OF WORMS. IS IT MAINLY DRIVEN BY THE COST OF MATERIALS AND HOW THOSE HAVE INCREASED DOWN AND IT'S JUST HOW BUSY EVERYBODY IS.

SO THERE'S SO MUCH CONSTRUCTION IN THE NORTH TEXAS AREA WHEN CONTRACTORS ARE CRAZY BUSY.

THEY'RE NOT GOING TO GIVE YOU A REALLY GOOD PRICE BECAUSE THEY CAN GET IT FROM THE NEXT TOWN DOWN THE ROAD. SO THEY DID IT, YOU KNOW, SO THEY CAN MAKE MONEY, BUT THEY JUST DON'T YOU DON'T GET GOOD DEALS. WHEN THINGS ARE THIS BUSY. IT'S JUST ALWAYS BEEN LIKE THAT. AND SO, YES, SOME OF IT IS JUST THE COST OF MATERIALS. FOR INSTANCE, THERE'S GONNA BE A LOT OF GRADING AND WORK ON THE SITE IS SO THAT INVOLVES ABOUT TRUCKING IN THE COST OF TRUCKING HAVE GONE THROUGH THE ROOF LATELY BECAUSE OF GAS PRICES, AND JUST TRUCKING COMPANIES CAN'T FIND PEOPLE TO DRIVE THEIR TRUCKS, SO I'LL JUST KEEPS ESCALATING. IT'S A TOTAL SUPPLY AND DEMAND RIGHT.

THERE'S MORE WORK THAN THERE ARE. PEOPLE TO DO THE WORK AND JUST LIKE IN INDIA'S MATERIALS, LABOR IN DEMAND. THAT'S THAT'S IT'S CRAZY IN THIS. YOU CAN LOOK TODAY AT THE COST OF CONCRETE.

AND YOU CAN CHECK IN A WEEK AND IT'S GONE UP 10 15. IT'S RIDICULOUS AND IT'S BEEN THAT WAY FOR A WHILE, BUT IT MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO WITH THIS CONSTRUCTION MANAGER AT RISK BEING CONSTRUCTION. ONE OF THE BENEFITS OF THAT IS THEY WILL GIVE US A GUARANTEED PRICE, SO WE'LL GET TO A POINT WHERE THEY'RE GOING TO SAY. THIS IS WHAT THE PROJECT'S GONNA COST.

ANYTHING ABOVE THAT. UNLESS THERE'S A THERE'S SOMETHING REALLY CRAZY HAPPENS. I MEAN, THEY REALLY THEY HAVE TO HOLD THAT PRICE. SO IT GIVES US SOME SECURITY. NOW WE PAY THEM FOR THAT SECURITY, BUT BUT YEAH, IT'S I DON'T KNOW HOW THESE GUYS FORECAST COSTS ANYMORE. I'VE KURTZMAN DOING THIS A LONG TIME. I'VE BEEN DOING IT A FAIR AMOUNT OF TIME. AND IT'S SO VOLATILE JUST THE PROCESS EVERYWHERE. SO IT'S DIFFICULT WHEN YOU'VE GOT A LARGE PROJECT AND IT TAKES A WHILE TO GET IT PLANNED AND YOU CAN THINK YOU'VE GOT A GOOD NUMBER ON THIS DATE AND A MONTH LATER. IT'S LIKE, OH, YOU'RE LOOKING FOR MONEY TO BUILD IT. SO IT WAS CHANGED TO GIVE YOU AN EXAMPLE ON JUST TO, YOU KNOW, ON THE LIQUID PROJECT, THE BASE THAT CAME IN 35% OVER OUR BUDGET. SO THAT'S WHAT WE'RE TRYING TO WORK THROUGH RIGHT NOW, 35% AND THEY KNOW THE BUDGET GOING INTO THE PROCESS. THEY DO SO YEAH, THAT'S ONE THING. IT'S PUBLIC INFORMATION, SO THEY KNOW THE ENGINEERS ESTIMATE, BUT IT DOESN'T MATTER . THEY BASICALLY THE LOW BITS IS THIS IS WHAT WE CAN BUILD IT FOR YOU. AND THAT WAS RATTLE OF HARDSCAPE. SO YEAH, IT'S A IT'S A CHALLENGING SITUATION FOR US, BUT WE'RE GOING TO GET IT DONE. SO I HAVE SOME REALLY GOOD NEWS FOR YOU FOR HASTE PARK. SO IT'S DONE. THEY FINISHED FINISHED UP ABOUT TWO O'CLOCK THIS AFTERNOON , AND I WENT OUT THERE AT THREE AND GOT THESE PHOTOS FOR YOU. SO WHAT? BASICALLY WILL BE DONE? YES. I DON'T KNOW HOW FAMILIAR YOU ARE WITH THE PARK. BUT YOU KNOW, WE THE PROBLEM IS THAT WE'VE HAD STORM WATER HAS ROLLED DOWN ACROSS THE PARK, AND IT'S BEEN KIND OF WALKED WASHING OUT THROUGH OUR NEIGHBOR ON THE NORTH SIDES PROPERTY. SO WHAT WE DID WAS WE CUT A SWELL ALL ALONG THAT NORTH SIDE AND THEN WE PUT THESE LITTLE ROCK CHECK DAMS AND YOU CAN SEE THAT THERE THE STORM. WATER WAS WASHING OUT OR DECOMPOSED GRANITE PROBABLY TAKEN UP MAYBE $500,000 WORTH EVERY TIME WE HAD BIG RAIN, SO WE REMOVED THOSE PORTIONS OF DECOMPOSED GRANITE AND WE PUT IN CONCRETE. YOU CAN SEE THAT LITTLE PIECE THERE. YOU KNOW, IN A PERFECT WORLD, THAT ENTIRE TRAIL WOULD BE CONCRETE, BUT BUT WE'LL GET TO THAT SOMEDAY. BUT ANYWAY, SO WE'VE WE'VE HOPEFULLY ELIMINATED THAT PROBLEM AND WE PUT RUNNING AND YOU CAN SEE THE CHANNEL DURING THEIR IN THE

[00:35:03]

BOTTOM RIGHT PHOTOS, SO WE INSTALLED TWO HAD THOSE INSTALLED SO WE'RE GOING TO CAPTURE THE WATER. IT'S COMING OFF THE PAVILIONS AREA THAT WAS WASHING OUT THE DECOMPOSED GRANITE WHERE PIPING IT. WE'RE RUNNING IT DOWN INTO ONE OF THESE CHECK DAMS, AND THEN THE WATER RUNS THROUGH THE SWELL ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE BOTTOM. SO THE UPPER PICTURE OF THE VERY TOP OF THE UPPER PICTURE, YOU CAN SEE THAT BIG WALL OF ROCK BACK THERE. IT HITS THAT AND WE'RE GOING TO RUN IT THROUGH A LITTLE SWILL. WE DUG THROUGH THE NEIGHBOR'S PROPERTY, AND WE WERE ALLOWED TO DO THAT. BECAUSE THERE IS A DRAINAGE, ISN'T IT? SO ON HER IN THE MAN THAT LIVED THERE IS NO LONGER LIVING THERE WERE DEALING WITH THE WAY IT WAS THEIR ALEXA CHURCHVILLE, AND SHE'S BEEN VERY NICE TO DO AND SHE'S BEEN VERY REASONABLE AND VERY PATIENT, BUT WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE IN THERE BECAUSE THERE'S A DRAINAGE EASEMENT, SO WE'RE TAKING THE WATER. THROUGH THAT LITTLE TIP OF HER PROPERTY AND RUNNING IT OUT TO AN EXISTING DRAINAGE EASEMENT ON THE EAST SIDE OF HER PROPERTY. I THINK THIS IS GOING TO WORK. I HOPE REALLY HOPE IT'S GONNA WORK. WE WON'T REALLY KNOW UNTIL WE GET A COUPLE OF BIG RAINS. SO THE NEXT TIME WE GET A BIG GREEN, THAT'S THE FIRST PLACE I'M GONNA GO. BUT ANYWAY, WE'VE WRAPPED IT UP AND WE WERE ABLE TO DO IT FOR ABOUT HALF OF WHAT WE THOUGHT WAS GOING TO COST ORIGINALLY. SO QUESTIONS. GOOD.

OKAY, THANK YOU. OKAY, SO YOU'RE GONNA GET YOUR FULFILLED WITH ME THIS EVENING, MATT MACK AND BE WITH US THIS EVENING. HE'S UH, HELPING OUT HIS FOLKS. HE'S GOT A SICK GRANDMA, SO HE'S TRYING TO TAKE CARE OF SOME THINGS FOR THE FAMILY. UM BUT JUST WANT TO GIVE YOU JUST A QUICK UPDATE.

PARK OPS IS DOING, UM OBVIOUSLY FRONTIER PARK ALL THE LOT OF THE PRACTICES STARTED THIS PAST WEEK . SO IN THE SCHOOL BACK IN, IT'S GO TIME AGAIN FOR YOUTH SPORTS, SO THEY'RE JUST GETTING THE BALL FIELDS READY TO GO? UM AS FAR AS THE MATCHING, WHICH IS BASICALLY EVERY TIME YOU KNOW THE GRASS, THE LITTLE PIECES OF GRASS GO DOWN AND THEY START TO FORM A MATH, SO YOU GOTTA GET IN THERE.

AND FOR WHATEVER METHOD, SOMETIMES A VACUUM. SOMETIMES IT'S JUST A RAKE. BUT TRYING TRYING TO GET ALL THAT UP. SO THE NEW GRASS KEEP REGENERATING. YOU HAVE NICE, THICK FIELDS, AND MATT IS AN EXPERT THAT SO HE'S DOING A GREAT JOB. UM UH, THE VERDICT CUTTING THAT'S ESSENTIALLY ALLOWING US TO GET IN, AND IT HELPS TO HELPS THE GRASS TO SPREAD. IT ALSO HELPS US GET, UM BREAK UP THE COMPACTED SOIL AND HELP GET OXYGEN DOWN THE ROOTS. SO THOSE ARE ALL IMPORTANT IMPORTANT DEALS AND YOU CAN KIND OF SEE THE PICTURE ON THE RIGHT. UM YOU KIND OF SEE THOSE LINES IN THE IN THE TURF THAT BLADE GOES ON, ACTUALLY CUTS DOWN TO THE GROUND. JUST KEEPS GOING, BUT IT IT'S INCREDIBLE WHAT THAT WILL DO FOR THE TURF. UH UM. AND THEN WE TALKED ABOUT WHAT THE THATCHER'S ALREADY UH UM. THEN WITH THE AERATION, SO WE CALL PULLING CORDS SO THAT TRACTOR WILL ESSENTIALLY PUSH THESE. APOLLO TIMES INTO THE GROUND SHAKES AND PULLS THEM AND CREATES VOIDS ALL THROUGHOUT AGAIN, HELPING TO LOOSEN THAT SOIL TO ALLOW ROOTS TO SPREAD AND GROW. GET OXYGEN DOWN, AND THEN WE'LL COLLECT ALL THOSE CORES AND THEN LEAVE. TOP DRESS, SO THAT'S COMING BACK WITH NEW SOIL OR WHAT WE'VE CAPTURED WITH THE CORES AND BASICALLY FILLING THOSE HOLES. THEY HAVE A NICE NICE NEW SERVICE TO A DEGREE, BUT IT'S ALSO COMPACTION IS HUGE , ESPECIALLY ATHLETIC FIELDS, KIDS. GOING NONSTOP RUNNING BACK AND FORTH. EVERY ONE OF THOSE LITTLE FEET HITS THE GROUND STARTS TO COMPRESS, COMPRESS COMPRESS, AND THAT MAKES IT DIFFICULT FOR WATER AND OXYGEN AND NUTRIENTS TO GET DOWN INTO THE RED ZONES. SO MATT MATT SKIES MATT AND HIS CREWS ARE DOING A PHENOMENAL JOB. WITH THAT. SO THAT LEADS TO THE DIRECTOR REPORT. DON'T HAVE A TON FOR YOU, BUT I GOT A COUPLE THINGS I WANT TO TELL YOU. SO WE'VE BEEN WORKING VERY HARD ON BUDGET STAFF DID A GREAT JOB GETTING BUDGET TURNED IN BACK IN MAY APRIL WHENEVER IT WAS AFTER THAT, NOW WE START GOING THROUGH THE FUN STUFF. IT'S LIKE OKAY, WHAT'S IMPORTANT HERE THERE OR WHATEVER. UM SO COUNCIL APPROVED MULTIPLE RESOLUTIONS THIS PAST TUESDAY. SO NOW IT'S GOING THROUGH ITS NEXT STEP, AND THEN WE SHOULD HAVE A BUDGET ADOPTION. WE SHOULD KNOW WHAT OUR BUDGETS ARE. SEPTEMBER 12TH UM, SO I WANT TO GIVE YOU THAT FREEDOM FEST. [00:40:01]

PEOPLE BECAUSE THAT SAME CONFERENCE GOING TO BE RIGHT OVER HERE ON THIS GRASS AND THERE'LL BE SOME LOGISTICS. WE'RE GOING TO CLOSE DOWN FIRST STREET, UH, WEST OF THE TRACK, SO IT'LL HELP WITH SOME SECURITY AND SAFETY ITEMS. UM WE STILL HAVE THE I P TICKETS FOR SALE.

THEY'RE GOING FOR $200 A TICKET. THEY I WANT TO SAY. THEY'VE SOLD 30 OR 40, THEN COUNCIL GETS, UM AND WE'RE PROVIDING SOME PUBLIC OFFICIALS AND THOSE THINGS. I BELIEVE 80 OF THE 200 ACCOUNTED FOR. SO RIGHT NOW WE'RE LOOKING AT ALMOST 1000 PEOPLE THAT WE'RE PLANNING TO HAVE IF EVERYBODY SHOWS UP. 1000, AND WE'RE STILL WE'RE GONNA STILL KEEP SELLING TICKETS AND DO WHAT WE NEED TO DO UNTIL RIGHT UP TO THE DATE OF THE EVENT. UM SO THINGS ARE GOING VERY WELL WITH THAT EVENT.

UM SO BEFORE I GET INTO ONE, THE NEXT MEETING ALSO WANT TO TAKE THIS MOMENT. JUST TO BRAG ON MY PEOPLE. THIS IS INCREDIBLE STAFF . I WISH THEY WERE ALL HERE SO THEY CAN ONLY HEAR IT. BUT WHAT TREVOR IN SICILY AND KAYLIN DOING THE RECREATION SIDE, YOU THINK ABOUT ALL THE CAMPS, ALL THE CLASSES, ALL THOSE THINGS GOING ON THE EVENTS. THOSE THREE PEOPLE ARE DOING IT. IT'S INCREDIBLE. ALL THESE PROJECTS THAT ARE GOING ON CURTAIN PART OF EASE THEIR MEN. IT'S EVEN EVEN WHEN IT'S A ONE PART BEING DEVELOPED ALL THE MOVING PIECES AND ALL THE DIFFERENT PEOPLE YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH. OR KURT AND ARE PULLING OUT. WE'RE HERE WE HAVE LEFT ON THIS TEXT START PROGRAM. UM GRANT THAT THEY'VE GIVEN US WHICH WILL BE A GREAT THING. ONCE WE FINALLY HIT THE GROUND RUNNING, BUT, UH, IT FEELS LIKE WE'RE TAKING ONE STEP FORWARD TWO STEPS BACK, AND IT'S AND IT'S ALL TEXT ARE GENERATED THE ISSUES SO, UM, BUT JUST MATT AND HIS CREW, MATT CASEY, THOSE GUYS OUT IN THIS HEAT, IT'S UNBEARABLE. AND FOR ANY OF THAT GRASS WILL BE GREEN IS BEYOND ME. I MEAN IT'S PARK OPERATIONS FOR ALMOST 15 YEARS AND WELL, MORE THAN THAT, UM, AND THAT'S A BORDERLINE MIRACLE RIGHT NOW. WHAT'S GOING ON? SO, UM SO YOU GOT A GOOD YOU GOT A GOOD AND IT'S NOT ME. YOU GOT A GOOD PARKS GROUP HERE. PARK STAFF, SO I WANT TO THANK THEM FOR ALL THE HARD WORK. ANGELA'S OUR NEW TEAM MEMBER HERE. ANGELA HIT THE GROUND RUNNING. SHE'S GOT ALL MY STUFF TAKEN CARE OF. KAYLIN IS HAS A SHORT ONE TIME ANGELS RUNNING. SHE'S SENDING REPORT.

I'M LIKE, HOW DID YOU GO TO DO THAT? SHE'S SHE'S KILLING IT. SHE'S MAGICAL. SO SO WE'VE GOT A GREAT GROUP AND WE'RE EXCITED TO BE BRINGING THE LIST ON NOW, SO WE'LL GET YOU. WE'LL GET HER OUT HERE IN FRONT OF YOU GUYS THE NEXT MONTH OR TWO, SO YOU GET TO MEET HER, AND SHE'S A VERY TALENTED UM PARKS PROFESSIONAL, SO WE'RE EXCITED TO GET HER ONBOARD. UM SO THAT BEING SAID ANY QUESTIONS FOR YOU GUYS? I KNOW I DIDN'T HAVE A TON FOR YOU. UM NEXT MEETING SEPTEMBER 14TH. SAME PLACE, SAME TIME, SO THAT'S IT. I THINK WE'RE WE'RE GOOD. AND AT THAT NEXT MEETING,

[5. Request for future agenda items.]
