WANT I'M LISTENING. GOOD EVENING, EVERYONE. IT'S SIX O'CLOCK. WELCOME TO THE FEBRUARY
[1. Call to Order / Roll Call.]
[00:00:16]
9TH FEBRUARY, 9TH. MEETING OF THE PARKS AND RECREATION. BOARD OF DIRECTORS. IT'S NOW TIME FOR ROLL CALL. I C FIVE MEMBERS HERE THIS EVENING. DANIEL KNOCKS CAMERON REEVES. IT WAS TRULY JOHN METCALF, R MEGAN BRANDON AND ALSO BOB BENSON. STAFF PRESENT. I SEE. LET'S SEE HERE.DAN BAKER IS HERE TONIGHT. MATT FOR YOU'VE GOT POP. OH, PAUL IS NOT WITH US ANYMORE. WOW. I WAS GONNA SAY YEAH. TREVOR IS HEAR CAITLIN'S HERE. UM, ANYBODY ELSE? OKAY? MAN I'M IN. WHAT'S
[2. Consider and act upon the minutes of the November 10, 2022 Parks and Recreation Board meeting.]
HAPPENED SINCE NOVEMBER WHEN WE WERE LAST TOGETHER. SPEAKING OF WHEN WE WERE LAST TOGETHER. IN NOVEMBER. THAT WAS OUR LAST MEETING. IN PERSON AS A GROUP. AND WANTED. TO TAKE A LOOK AT THE MINUTES BECAUSE THAT'S NEXT ON THE AGENDA HERE, ACTING UPON THE MINUTES OF THE NOVEMBER 10TH MEETING. DO I HEAR A MOTION TO ASKED THE MINUTES. SO MOVED BY VICE CHAIR CAMERON READS. DO I HEAR A 2ND 2ND? SECOND FROM DANIEL KNOCKS MOVED IN SECOND AND ALL THOSE IN FAVOR. VERBAL AND VISUAL. ANY OPPOSED. ALRIGHT MINUTES ARE PASSED. OKAY? HERE WE ARE BACK ON FEBRUARY. 9TH HAVING JUST RETURNED FROM NOVEMBER 10TH AND PASSING THOSE MINUTES. ANY COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC THIS EVENING? OKAY? DEAL. THEN WE CAN GO AHEAD AND CHECK THAT ONE OFF. AND NUMBER FOUR ON[4. Rutherford Park update.]
OUR LIST. RUTHERFORD PARK, UPDATING. THANK YOU. MEMBERS OF THE PARKS BOARD. YEAH IT'S BEEN A LITTLE WHILE SINCE WE FORMALLY SAT DOWN AND MET. SO THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING HERE TONIGHT. UM I WAS ASKED TO BRING FORTH THE RUTHERFORD PARK UPDATE. UM SO THIS WAS A OPPORTUNITY THAT WE HAD THROUGH A DEVELOPER HAD SOME LAND JUST ON THE NORTH SIDE OF 3 80. UM, THAT OR PARKS OPEN SPACE MASTER PLAN HAS IDENTIFIED AS NEEDS FOR A PARK OR, YOU KNOW, CONCEPTUALLY, SO THAT AREA OF TOWN UM, WE KNOW THAT BUILD OUT WILL HAVE OVER 5000 RESIDENTS THAT WILL EVENTUALLY FEEDING THAT PART. UM THE PARK. IT'S NOT A HUGE PARK. IT'S ABOUT 3.5 A LITTLE OVER 3.5 ACRES OF WHAT WE'LL CALL PROGRAMMABLE OPEN SPACE. UM BUT IT IS IT DOES. IT IS ADJACENT TO A 15 ACRE POND.THE POND IS NOT OURS, BUT WE'D BE ABLE TO UTILIZE IT, WHETHER IT'S A FISHING DOCK. WHATEVER YOU WANT TO DO WITH THE POND AND A LOOP TRAIL AROUND IT, UM YOU KNOW IT HAS ENOUGH ROOM FOR AN ATHLETIC FIELD OR MULTIPLE FIELDS, DEPENDING ON THE TYPE OF SPORT IN THE AGE GROUP. AH WE WOULD OBVIOUSLY DO A PLAYGROUND AND PAVILION LIKE WE DEAL WITH PRETTY MUCH ALL OF OUR PARKS.
AND THEN JUST SOME WALKING TRAILS. I CAN BUY TRAILS. ADD TO THAT THE LOCATION IS IN THE YELLOW BOX AT THE BOTTOM LABELED RUTHERFORD PARK. BUT AS YOU CAN SEE ALL THE WAY AROUND IT AS A LOT OF DEVELOPMENT. CURRENT AND FUTURE DEVELOPMENT. UM YOU CAN SEE ON THAT THAT PICTURE THE POND KIND OF REGULAR SHAPE ON THE NORTH SIDE. WE WERE LOOKING AT POTENTIALLY TAKING THAT POND WITH THE WITH THE LAND DEAL, BUT THERE'S A LOT OF OR COULD BE POTENTIAL. UM LIABILITY TO THE TO THE TOWN. THERE IS A IT'S AN OLD EARTH AND THAT RETAINS THAT POND AND DID MANAGE TO THE COUNTY IN WE LOOKED AT IT. THE POTENTIAL COSTS OF MAINTENANCE ON THAT DIDN'T MAKE SENSE FOR THE TOWN TO TAKE THAT ON. SO THE DEVELOPER STILL OWNS THAT, UM YOU KNOW WE'LL HAVE AGREEMENTS TO BE ABLE TO PUT SOME TRAIL AROUND IT. THERE'S ALSO A SCHOOL DISTRICT LAND ON THE ALMOST DUE NORTH CORNER OF THAT OR NOT CORNER. THE NORTH PIECE OF THAT PROPERTY, WHICH COULD BE AN EVENTUAL UM, NATURE CENTER OR SOMETHING. YOU ALL HAVE A PACKET . UH, THAT'S GOT A LITTLE A LOT MORE DETAIL. THIS IS JUST A 30,000 FT VIEW. ON WHAT WE'RE DOING, SO WE'RE VERY HAPPY ABOUT IT. IT'S CERTAINLY UM UM WE'LL BE AN ASSET FROM THE TOWN NOW. I WILL TELL YOU THERE'S NO FUNDING FOR THIS PROJECT. RIGHT NOW. WE PROBABLY HAVE GREATER NEEDS ELSEWHERE IN THE TOWN, BUT IT'S
[00:05:04]
SOMETHING THAT WILL EVENTUALLY. BE DEVELOPED AS PARK. SO UM, SOMEWHERE DOWN THE FUTURE ONCE, UH WE'VE GOT, ALEX SAID. WE'VE GOT A LOT OF OTHER NEEDS GOING ON RIGHT NOW. BUT IT'S JUST NICE TO HAVE IT'S OBVIOUSLY WE'RE NOT. WE'RE NOT MAKING MORE LAND. SO ANYTIME WE'RE ABLE TO JUMP ON SOMETHING LIKE THAT. AND IT WAS A I DON'T HAVE ALL THE DETAILS OF THE TRANSACTION, BUT IT WAS HELPFUL FOR THE DEVELOPER. UM SO WE WERE ABLE TO SWING SOME ITEMS BACK AND FORTH AND ACQUIRED THAT LAND SO. HERE'S A BASICALLY A CONCEPT PLAN OF WHAT IT COULD LOOK LIKE, UM, AGAIN WITH PARKING PLAYGROUND PAVILION ATHLETIC FIELDS OPEN SPACE JUST TO ENJOY AND THEN YOU CAN KIND OF SEE THAT WHITE OUTLINE GOING AROUND WOULD BE A TRAIL THAT WOULD NOT ONLY LOOP AROUND THE POND BUT ALSO CONNECT. TECHNICALLY IT'S DOWN DOWNSTREAM IS TO THE NORTHEAST, SO THE WATER FLOWS TO THE NORTHEAST BUT CONNECTED TO SOME OF THAT DEVELOPMENT AS WELL. SO DO YOU GUYS HAVE ANY QUESTIONS FOR GOVERNING? THE PROJECT AGAIN. IT'S VERY, VERY EARLY. UM, BUT WE WERE HAPPY TO ACQUIRE THAT. CAMERON. I DON'T KNOW. UM. I WOULD TELL YOU RIGHT NOW. IT'S PROBABLY NOT HIGH ON OUR LIST. NOW YOU KNOW, WE WERE HOPING TO GO THROUGH AN OPEN SPACE MASTER PLAN A NO, NOT AN UPDATE. ANOTHER VERSION OF OUR OPEN SPACE MASTER PLAN HOPE OF HOPING TO GET FUNDING. YOU KNOW LATER THIS YEAR OR NEXT, AND THE NEXT UPCOMING BUDGET. UM SO THAT WILL ALSO HELP YOU KNOW THAT WE THAT'S OUR PLAN THAT WE GO BY SO THINGS CHANGE FROM THE LAST PLAN. THAT'S WHAT WE'RE GOING TO USE AS A GUIDE, SO IF EVERYBODY COMES OUT AND SAYS WE NEED THAT PLAN FOR THAT PARK DEVELOPED THEN THEN THAT'S SOMETHING WE HAVE TO LOOK AT. AND COUNSELOR HAVE TO LOOK AT. UH SO RIGHT NOW , LAKEWOOD PRESERVE. WE'VE BEEN GOING BACK AND FORTH WITH THE DEVELOPER. WE THINK WE'RE OVER THE HUMP ON THAT SO THAT ONE SHOULD START. I WOULD HOPE IN THE NEXT SEVERAL MONTHS. AND THAT'S THE LAKEWOOD PRESERVE ALREADY EXISTS, BUT IT'S GOING TO BE EXPANSION. IT WOULD BE, UM PLAYGROUND, ATHLETIC FIELDS. LIGHT OF ATHLETIC BUILDS, UM PICKLEBALL. THINGS LIKE THAT. IT'S JUST A LITTLE SOUTH OF CROYDON FIRST AND THEN OBVIOUSLY RAYMOND COMMUNITY WHICH IS AT THE CORNER OF COURT IN FIRST THAT ONE WILL HAVE OUR FUNDING.OCTOBER 1ST ITS BOND DOLLARS, SO WE'RE GOING THROUGH THE DESIGN PROCESS RIGHT NOW. AND YOU'LL START TO IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT. IF YOU DRIVE BY THERE, YOU'LL SEE A LOT OF, UH MATERIAL DARK THAT'S BEEN HAULED IN TO HELP US. THERE'S GONNA BE A LOT OF HARD WORK ON THAT PROJECT. BUT WE'VE MET WITH THE CONSTRUCTION MANAGER AT RISK. WE'VE GOT THE CONSULTANT, SO THERE WERE FINE TUNING THE PROJECT RIGHT NOW. IT'S FOR WHAT WE WANT TO DO. WE'RE STILL A LITTLE OVER BUDGET, SO WE'RE GOING THROUGH THAT VALUE ENGINEERING RIGHT NOW. IN HOPES THAT WE CAN GET AS MUCH AS WE CAN DO THIS, AND IT'S AND IT'S ALWAYS BEEN IDENTIFIED AS THE FIRST PHASE OF THE PROJECT, SO WE KNOW THERE'S GOING TO BE DOLLARS LATER TO COME IN AND CONTINUE TO DEVELOP THAT PARK. YEAH. WHERE DOES THE TOWN GET THE DIRT? THAT'S IN THAT PART. SO WE ARE. WE WORK WITH OUR ENGINEERING GROUP, SO LOCAL PROJECTS. BASICALLY IT'S COMING IN. YOU KNOW, THERE'S OBVIOUSLY A LOT OF FARMLAND OUT HERE. SO IF SOMEONE'S COMING IN, AND WE'VE THERE'S A MULTI FAMILY JUST ON THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF DOWNTOWN. WE WERE ABLE TO TAKE SOME MATERIAL FROM THERE. IT'S GOOD, CLEAN SOIL. THAT'S THE KEY . THERE'S CLEAN. FILTERED YES, YES. AND WE'VE HAD CALLS FROM EVEN OUTSIDE OF PROSPER AND WE'LL GO DOWN AND TAKE A LOOK. AND IF IT'S WE FEEL IT'S PRETTY GOOD SOIL. WE'LL TAKE IT. YEAH. ANY OTHER QUESTIONS. OKAY THANK YOU. SORRY JUST A QUICK COMMENT JUST WANTED TO COMPLIMENT. THE PARK'S TEAM, THE CITY AND I'M SORRY THE TOWN AND THE I S D COMING TOGETHER SO QUICKLY TO JUMP ON THIS OPPORTUNITY. I KNOW THIS WAS VERY MUCH A FAST MOVER AND WHAT YOU GUYS WERE ABLE TO DO IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME WAS REALLY IMPRESSIVE. BECAUSE I THINK MAYOR BRISTOL GRABBED ME AND SAID, HEY, THIS IS HAPPENING , LIKE RIGHT IT CUTE FEW DAYS AFTER OUR NOVEMBER BOARD MEETING , AND SO WE SHOT AROUND AN EMAIL JUST TO LET EVERYBODY KNOW REALLY QUICK BECAUSE IT'S CUSTOMARY THAT IT SHOWS UP HERE FIRST. YES WE ASKED COMMENTS WE'VE HAD WE VOTE. THAT'S NOT REGULATORY. IT'S MORE CUSTOMARY THAN ANYTHING BUT AS MAYOR OF BRISTOL, EXPLAIN TO ME HOW ALL THE DIFFERENT GROUPS ARE COMING TOGETHER AS I MENTIONED THE ISD PARKS AND REC AND THE TOWN UM, ALTOGETHER. I WAS JUST THOROUGHLY IMPRESSED IS WHAT YOU GUYS WERE ABLE TO DO IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. IT WAS GREAT DISCUSSIONS STARTED ACTUALLY BACK WHEN HARLEM WAS STILL HERE, AND THERE WAS SOMETHING THAT HAD TO BE WORKED OUT. SO HARLEY DID
[00:10:03]
A GREAT JOB, YOU KNOW, STARTING THAT PROCESS. THEN WHEN RON CAME IN, UM, HE KIND OF GOT IT WITH THE MAYOR. GOT IT OVER THE FINISH LINE. AND REALLY, YEAH. DID A GREAT JOB, SO WE WERE VERY PLEASED. THANK YOU. ALL RIGHT. NUMBER FIVE ON OUR LIST. STAFF UPDATES. CORRECT TRUE.[5. Receive staff updates: Recreation, Park Development, Park Operations, and Director.]
GOOD EVENING PARK BOARD. UM SO IN DECEMBER. VERY BEGINNING. DECEMBER DECEMBER, 3RD WE HAD OUR PROSPER CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL. WHETHER COOPERATE WHETHER IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. WE ENDED UP WITH OVER 6000 EVENT GOERS THROUGHOUT THE DAY. UM YOU KNOW, SOME OF THE MAJOR ATTRACTIONS WERE THE WE HAD SANTA'S WORKSHOP OR HORSE DRAWN CARRIAGE THAT WAS RUNNING DOWN BROADWAY. UM, WE KIDS CHRISTMAS SHOP. NEW EDITION WAS SANDY'S SELL SANDY SANTA'S SOUTHEAST ASIAN THAT WAS IN CONJUNCTION WITH ONE OF OUR SPONSORS, UH, BEACH OR ORTHODONTICS. WE HAD OUR COMMUNITY STAGE AS WE ALWAYS DO OUR KIDS ZONE WITH INFLATABLES AND GAMES, UM, WITH A LOT OF DIFFERENT ATTRACTIONS THROUGHOUT THE DAY, ENDED UP WITH OVER 90 BOOST SPACES AND THAT'S GOING TO BE YOU KNOW, YOUR SPONSORED MAJORITY OF IT'S GOING TO BE YOUR SPONSORS YOUR ARTISANS CRAFTERS. UM, NONPROFITS AS WELL. MHM UH, START OUT A LITTLE WINDY THAT DAY. BUT ONCE THE EVENT GOT GOING, EVERYTHING DIED DOWN. AND SO, UM YOU KNOW, JUST ANOTHER ANOTHER EVENT WHERE EVERYTHING. WENT PRETTY MUCH PERFECT. ANYONE THAT KNEW ANYTHING THAT WASN'T GOING WELL WAS INTERNAL. OF COURSE, UM AND . WHAT WE DID THIS YEAR ALSO WAS WE HAD ACCESSIBLE PARKING. FOR SOME OF THE SOME OF OUR SPECIAL POPULATIONS GROUP, AND THAT WAS SOMETHING THAT WE'RE LOOKING TO CONTINUE ON, NOT ONLY FOR THE CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL, BUT FOR SOME OF OUR OTHER MAJOR EVENTS. UM IF THE SPECIAL POPULATION SO SOME OF THE LIKE, PARDON ME DOWN, WHAT'S THE. GOT A FAMILY SHOW SPECIAL NEEDS. APOLOGIES. UM. SO WE, UH YOU KNOW, ONCE WE HAD OUR EVENT MET WITH STAFF MET WITH OUR SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE TO YOU KNOW, GO THROUGH. UM YOU KNOW WHAT WE THOUGHT WENT RIGHT WENT WRONG. WE DID PUT OUT SURVEYS TO GET CUSTOMER FEEDBACK FROM OUR SPONSORS AND OUR VENDORS. UM AND SO NOW, WHAT IS IT? FEBRUARY SO HERE IN MARCH, WE WILL START, UM, GETTING ALL THE DETAILS TOGETHER FOR THE 2023 FESTIVAL. YES SO WE'VE GOT A LITTLE BIT OF A BREAK THERE.UM BUT JUST REALLY THANK YOU TO ALL OUR VOLUNTEERS. ANY ANY OF THE PARKS BOARD THAT WAS ABLE VOLUNTEER? WE APPRECIATE IT. UM YOU KNOW, VOLUNTEERS ARE VERY BIG FACTOR FOR THE SUCCESS OF THE EVENT AS LONG AS STAFF UM AND JUST FOR ANYONE THAT'S NOT AWARE TO THE KIDS CHRISTMAS SHOP. THIS IS THE OPPORTUNITY FOR KIDS TO COME IN. PURCHASE AFFORDABLE GIFTS, WHETHER IT'S FURTHER FAMILY FRIENDS FOR THEMSELVES, AND SO THIS YEAR WE EVERY YEAR WE DONATE THE REVENUE. FROM THE SHOP TO OUR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM. SO THIS YEAR WE RAISED $2049. AND SO, INCLUDING THAT DEPOSIT THE TOTAL AMOUNT FOR THE SHOP IS $10,317. SO WE'RE JUST WE'RE LOOKING, UH, DIFFERENT WAYS. YOU REALIZE THOSE FUNDS WE HAVE OUR SPRING AND SUMMER PRO OR SUMMER PROGRAMS. REGISTRATION WILL OPEN IN APRIL. OUR SPRING PROGRAMS, REGISTRATIONS CURRENTLY OPEN AND SO WE'RE JUST LOOKING AT DIFFERENT WAYS TO BE ABLE TO UTILIZE THAT MONEY. UM SO IT WAS ANOTHER SUCCESS HERE AND THEN I DID INCLUDE A LINK HERE, UM JUST KIND OF A RECAP VIDEOS VERY WELL DONE. RECAP VIDEO, AND I GUESS THAT WAS GONNA HAPPEN. UM SECOND TIME'S CHARM, RIGHT? OKAY? THERE WE GO. WE LOVE ADDS MERRY CHRISTMAS PROSPER. YEAH.
[00:16:37]
76. 21. THANKS TO OUR TITLE SPONSOR. OF PLATINUM AND GOLD SPONSORS.TEXAS HEALTH CLIFF FREEMAN. UM YOU KNOW, A LOT OF A LOT OF THESE, UM, SPONSORSHIPS HELP OFFSET THE COST OF THE EXPENSES FOR THE EVENT. UM SO, LIKE I SAID, YOU KNOW, WE'RE PLANNING FOR THE 2023 EVENT. AND THEN YOU KNOW, WE'RE TAKING A LOOK AT A FEW DIFFERENT THINGS. AS FAR AS THAT LAY OUT, UM ANY KIND OF ATTRACTIONS THAT WE CAN ADD, SO WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO IT, AND THEN WE'LL MEET AS A GROUP STARTING IN MARCH WITH THE SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE. AND THEN THE DATE IS GOING TO BE SINCE SATURDAY, DECEMBER 3RD, I THINK IT'S THE FIRST. FIRST SATURDAY OF DECEMBER, SO I BELIEVE IT'S DECEMBER 3RD, BUT SO WE ARE OR DECEMBER 2ND, ACTUALLY. SO WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT. WELL, KUDOS TO EVERYBODY THAT WORKED ON IT. I YOU KNOW, WE'VE LIVED HERE FOR MANY YEARS. AND I'VE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT JUST DIFFERENT GROUPS, DIFFERENT PEOPLE GETTING INVOLVED. JUST EVERYTHING ABOUT IT WAS FANTASTIC. EVEN THE CHRISTMAS THAT WAS HELD INSIDE HERE FOR CENTURY. UM. IT WAS REALLY COOL. SO YOU GUYS DO SOME DO SOME GREAT STUFF, WONDERFUL IDEAS. THANK YOU. YEAH. YOU'RE WELCOME. UM YOU KNOW, IT'S A IT'S ALL DIVISIONS. I MEAN, IT'S PARKS OPERATIONS IS RECREATION. UM IT'S PARKS PLANNING, SO I MEAN, IT'S WE ALL COME TOGETHER FOR THIS THING, EVEN PUBLIC WORKS, YOU KNOW, THEY USUALLY WILL PROVIDE EMPLOYEES TO HELP WORK TRAFFIC AND THINGS LIKE THAT. SO I MEAN, ESPECIALLY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT WOULD TRANSPORTATION BEING ABLE TO GET GUESTS? BACK AND FORTH, SO IT'S A IT'S COMBINED EFFORT, AND SO THANK YOU VERY MUCH. HAVE A PARADE. AND EVERYTHING COME OFF AS FLAWLESS AS IT DID, OR AT LEAST AS FLAWLESS. WHAT YOU SAW , YOU KNOW, BUT NO. YEAH, THANK THANK YOU VERY MUCH. YOU CAN HEAR ME, THOUGH. YOU CAN'T HEAR ME, OKAY? I'LL TALK DIRECTLY INTO IT. OKAY. HOW ABOUT NOW? HEY GUYS. BIG THANKS FOR EVERYTHING. THANK YOU. UM, I ALSO WANTED TO SAY THANK YOU. I THOUGHT IT WAS PHENOMENAL EVENT . I SPENT MOST OF THE DAY UM, SHOPPING AND WRAPPING PRESENTS, AND, UH, IT WAS. IT WAS JUST A REALLY JOYFUL TIME. I'M CURIOUS IF YOU TRACK ATTENDANCE FROM YEAR TO YEAR. I KNOW YOU SAID THERE ARE OVER 6000, YOU KNOW, EVENT GOERS. WHAT WHAT GROWTH IS THAT FROM THE PREVIOUS YEAR. UM I HAD TO TAKE A LOOK. ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE RELY ON IS THE I S D BEING ABLE TO DO LIKE A COUNT OF GUESTS BECAUSE WITH YOUR, YOU KNOW IF YOU DON'T HAVE THOSE KIND OF MEASUREMENTS, AND YOU'RE REALLY JUST ESTIMATING, UM, I'LL GET WITH THE MARKETING COORDINATOR AND WE CAN TAKE A LOOK OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS OF
[00:20:05]
HOW MUCH THAT'S GROWN, UM, YOU KNOW PER YEAR, SO I'LL HAVE A FOLLOW UP FOR YOU ALL. THE NEXT MEETING. BUT. EXCELLENT. AND THEN UM, SO THIS NEXT SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 18TH WE HAVE OUR ANNUAL FISHING DERBY NINE A.M. TO 11 A.M. AT THE FRONTIER POND. UM THIS IS AN EVENT THAT BASICALLY IT'S A FREE EVENT COMPLIMENTARY. IT'S A FAMILY EVENT. WE'RE GONNA STOCK THE POND WITH OVER 2000 FISH. WE WORK WITH THE EXCUSE ME TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE DEPARTMENT.THEY DO PROVIDE THE FISH. IT'S A MIXTURE OF RAINBOW TROUT. CATFISH, UM AND SO THEY'RE GOING TO BE STALKING IT ON THURSDAY, WEATHER PERMITTING. AND SO WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO IT UPON MEDICS IS OUR TITLE SPONSOR FOR THIS EVENT. THEY ALWAYS DO A GREAT JOB. THIS IS I WANT TO SAY, PROBABLY THE FIFTH OR SIXTH YEAR IN A ROW THAT THEY'VE BEEN ABLE TO PARTICIPATE. UM NOT ONLY DOES POND MEDICS PARTICIPATES AS SPONSOR, BUT THEY PROVIDE US WITH VOLUNTEERS. UM THIS YEAR WE HAVE SEVEN VOLUNTEERS COMING FROM POND. MEDICS, UM USUALLY IT'S RETURNING PEOPLE, SO THEY ALL KINDA HAVE AN IDEA OF WHAT THE EVENT IS LIKE, AND KIND OF WHAT THEY'RE DOING, AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE AND THEN ALSO, UM, WE WERE LUCKY THAT THE BASS FISHING TOURNAMENT IS THE WEEKEND AFTER THE FISHING EVENT . SO UM I WAS ABLE TO CONNECT WITH THEM AND THEY'RE GONNA BE ABLE TO PROVIDE EIGHT UH, HIGH SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS AS WELL WITH THE FISHING TEAM, YOU KNOW, TYPICALLY, THE VOLUNTEERS WITH PARAMEDICS AND STAFF ARE GOING TO BE MORE OF DOING THE CHECKLIST FOR THE FISH ON THE BASS FISHING TEAM REALLY ENCOURAGED TO KIND OF JUST FLOAT AROUND AND, YOU KNOW, GET WITH FAMILIES THAT POSSIBLY DON'T KNOW A WHOLE LOT ABOUT FISHING OR NEED A LITTLE BIT OF ASSISTANCE, SO WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT AS WELL. UM AND THEN THIS YEAR WE WERE GOING TO HAVE A FOOD BIT OR COFFEE VENDOR OUT THERE. BOUNDARIES COFFEE, THEY'RE GOING TO COME OUT AND PROVIDE REFRESHMENTS FOR EVERYBODY SINCE IT WILL BE EARLY IN THE MORNING. PROBABLY COLD, BUT WE WILL SEE ON THAT ONE. UM SO THERE ARE SOME VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES THERE. IF ANYBODY IS INTERESTED, DEFINITELY REACH OUT TO ME. IT'S A TWO HOUR EVENT . UM DONE BY, YOU KNOW, 11 30. IT'S WHEN WE HAND OUT PRIZES PER AGE DIVISIONS. SO WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO. IT'S PRETTY MUCH THE MM. FIRST SPECIAL EVENT OF THE YEAR. SO WE WOULD LIKE TO START OFF THERE AND THEN GET KICKED OFF AND SO WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT AS WELL. ONE. SORRY FOR THOSE THAT HAVE NOT PARTICIPATED IN THE FISHING DERBY. FROM A VOLUNTEER STANDPOINT, IT'S A GREAT IT'S A GREAT EVENT HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I'M UNFORTUNATELY GOING OUT OF TOWN. UM SECONDLY, ON THE WITH THE HIGH SCHOOL TEAM, I'M REALLY GLAD THAT THE FISHING TEAM IS GOING TO BE THERE. SOMETHING TO CONSIDER IS MAYBE SEE IF ONE OR TWO OF THE GUYS WOULD DO A 30 MINUTE FISHING CLINIC AFTER THE AWARDS ARE GIVEN OUT TO SEE IF PEOPLE WOULD WANT TO STAY AFTERWARDS WITH THEIR KIDS TO DO SOME TYPE OF FISHING CLINIC. IF THE IF THERE'S UH IF ONE OF THE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WOULD WANT TO DO THAT, UM, I THINK IT MIGHT BE GIVEN OPPORTUNITY BECAUSE I'M SURE THERE ARE KIDS THAT WOULD WANT TO LEARN A LITTLE BIT MORE FROM THE HIGH SCHOOL KIDS. UM, WHAT THEY KNOW. JUST SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT. OKAY WILLING TO DO IT? YEAH, THERE, UM WHOEVER THEIR COORDINATOR IS, UM SHE WILL BE SENDING OVER ALL THE PAPERWORK AND EVERYTHING. SO THAT'S DEFINITELY CONVERSATION. I CAN HAVE WITH HER TO SEE IT. BUT THE IDEA OUT THERE AND THEN MAKE SURE TO, YOU KNOW, KIND OF ANNOUNCE IT, YOU KNOW, JUST LET EVERYBODY KNOW BECAUSE USUALLY WE'LL TAKE A TAKE A STROLL AROUND THE PERIMETER AND JUST LET PEOPLE KNOW. YOU KNOW, THIS IS THE PERSON YOU'RE GOING TO GO TO IF YOU CATCH A FISH JUST TO REPORT IT. AND SO THAT WILL BE SOMETHING ELSE THAT WE COULD IF THEY WERE WILLING TO DO THAT, THEN THAT'S A GREAT IDEA.
PERFECT UM, WAS THERE ANY QUESTIONS IN REGARDS TO THE FISHING DERBY? AWESOME. ALRIGHT.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH. YEAH. OKAY SO UNTIL WE GET OUR NEW ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, YOU'VE GOT THE B TEAM GIVING YOU THE PARK DEVELOPMENT. UPDATES. UH SO I JUST WANT TO GIVE YOU SOME OF
[00:25:05]
THE PROJECTS WE'VE GOT GOING ON RIGHT NOW. GIVE AN UPDATE ON HIM PECAN GROVE PARK, WHICH I THINK A LOT OF YOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH. THIS IS A RENOVATION PROJECT. IT'S NOT. IT'S NOT A NEW PARK.UM SO WE JUST KICKED US OFF THE BEGINNING OF JANUARY, AND THIS IS GOING TO INVOLVE SOME TRAIL.
ADDITIONAL PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT. UM, A SMALL WE COULD CALL IT A BRIDGE WILL SEE WHEN IT'S FINALLY DONE, BUT A SMALL OR WHAT? I CALL IT LIKE A CREEK CROSSING ON THE SOUTH END OF THAT POND, WHICH RIGHT NOW IS JUST REALLY THERE'S A THERE'S A DRAINAGE AREA, BUT THERE'LL BE A WAY TO GET ALL THE WAY AROUND THAT POND NOW SAFELY UM SO REALLY ALL WE'VE ALWAYS REALLY HAPPENED RIGHT NOW, SO FAR AS YOU GOT THE CONSTRUCTION. EXCUSE ME. THE EROSION FENCING HAS BEEN STALLED. UM AND SOME, UH STAKES SHOWING WHERE THE TRAIL WILL GO, SO IT'S THE VERY EARLY STAGES OF THAT PROJECT, BUT THAT ONE SHOULD BE STARTING TO PICK UP SOME MOMENTUM, ESPECIALLY THE WEATHER GETS A LITTLE BIT BETTER. SO PROJECTS LIKE THAT, THEN DO WE USE LIKE THE QUESTIONNAIRE THAT HAS BEEN SENT OUT TO KIND OF FIGURE OUT WHAT KIND OF THINGS WE SHOULD IMPLEMENT IN THE PARKS FOR THE UPDATES. YES, AND I'LL BE HONEST WITH YOU. I THIS WAS ALREADY PLANNED BY BEFORE I GOT HERE. BUT YES, TYPICALLY AND I WILL TOUCH ON SOMETHING COMING UP HERE PRETTY SOON, UH, WHEN WE DO WHEN WE DO HAVE A NEW PROJECT NEW PARK, WHATEVER WE WILL GO TO THE PUBLIC FOR INPUT. SO I'M ASSUMING I KNOW THERE WAS SOME CONTROVERSY WITH THIS PARK A LITTLE OVER A YEAR OR SO AGO. UM BUT THIS THERE'S NOTHING CONTROVERSIAL ON THIS. IT'S GOING TO BE PRETTIER. THAT'S GOING TO BE MORE TRAIL ACCESS AND JUST ACCESS TO THE PARK, SO IT SHOULD BE A REALLY NICE PROJECT. TANNER'S MILK. THIS IS ONE OF OUR NEW PARKS STILL UNDER DEVELOPMENT. UM WE RECENTLY GOT THE BASKETBALL COURT COURT AND GOALS COMPLETED THE MONUMENT SIGNS INSTALLED AND SOME BACKSTOPS INSTALLED PAVILION STRUCTURE. YOU CAN SEE A PICTURE OF IT RIGHT NOW. REALLY GOOD LOOKING PAVILION ALMOST DONE. THE. THE BOUNDS ARE UP, AND THEY'RE JUST PUTTING THE PRETTY STONE AROUND THE COLUMNS RIGHT NOW. UM AND I THINK THE PLAYGROUND IS STILL I DON'T THINK THAT'S STARTED YET. AH BUT THAT ONE SHOULD HOPEFULLY, IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF MONTHS, BE WRAPPING UP AND HAVE A HAVE A PARK GOING SO THAT ONE'S COME A LONG WAY IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS. STAR MEADOW PARK, SO ON A LITTLE BIT ON THE WEST SIDE OF TOWN. UH YOU CAN SEE PICTURE HERE. BEAUTIFUL PARK PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT IS IN AND THEN WE'VE ALREADY STARTED THE PAVILION CONSTRUCTION. JUST A NOTE ON SOME OF THESE PROJECTS. WE HAVE SEEN EM. REALLY LONG LEAD TIMES ON THINGS LIKE PAVILIONS AND PLAYGROUNDS, SO THESE ARE ACTUALLY A LITTLE AHEAD OF SCHEDULE. PROBABLY NOT. NOT IF YOU GO BACK WHEN THE PLANS WERE AVENGING WERE INITIALLY BEING DONE AND WHAT THEY THOUGHT IT WOULD TAKE. BUT THEN, BEFORE WE WERE ABLE TO START CONSTRUCTION, WE KNEW WE WERE GETTING LEAD TIMES OF A YEAR, NINE MONTHS A YEAR FOR PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT, THE SAME PAVILIONS AND WE'VE BEEN FORTUNATE THOSE THAT EQUIPMENT HAS BEEN COMING IN A LITTLE MORE QUICKLY. UM SO I JUST WANTED TO PUT THAT OUT THERE. IF SOMEBODY'S SEEMS LIKE THEY'VE BEEN YOU'VE BEEN GETTING UPDATES FOR A WHILE, UH THERE'S JUST BEEN SOME ITEMS THAT JUST HAVE NOT BEEN AVAILABLE, SO YEAH, THAT ONE'S GONNA BE REALLY NICE. PART TWO. I'M GONNA TURN THIS OVER TO NOT. FOR GIVE YOU A LITTLE SLIDE THIS TIME. FIRST TIME. 10 YEARS. SO ANYWAY. HERE'S A LITTLE RUNDOWN OF A FEW THINGS THAT WE'RE WORKING ON. UH, YOU KNOW, THE BIGGEST THING WE'RE TRYING TO DO RIGHT NOW IS AFTER THAT FLOOD THAT WE JUST HAD A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO. TRYING TO CLEAN EVERYTHING UP AND MAKE SURE EVERYTHING'S. BACK IN. ORDER THE DISK OFF IF YOU LOOK RIGHT THERE LAST TIME IT FLOODED. WHAT ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO MONTH AGO? SOMEWHERE AROUND THERE, WE LOST ONE OF OUR BRIDGES THAT WERE BUILT OVER THERE. SO WE GOT IT RE ANCHORED REDONE AND, UH, WE'RE STILL DOWN ONE. ONE BRIDGE, BUT SAYS IT DRIES UP IN A FLOODPLAIN IF YOU'VE EVER BEEN OVER THERE, BUT OFF OF THIS TRAP, AND, UH NORTH LEGACY, NOT THE EXTENDED LEGACY YET. SO. REALLY NICE SEEING SOME DEER OUT THERE AND WE'VE GOT LOTS OF PIGS AND WELL. UM YOU KNOW? SOCCER THAT'S OUR MAIN CONCERN RIGHT NOW IS WE'RE SO BEHIND ON THAT WE CAN'T GET ONTO THE FIELDS. WE'VE GOT THE NETS UP. WE'VE GOT THE CORNERS PAINTED. WE'VE GOT EVERYTHING READY, BUT THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO START TWO WEEKS AGO WHEN WE STARTED OFF THE LAST AND THAT WE'VE GOT THE FLOOD. AND, UH SO WE'RE PRETTY FAR BEHIND THEM ALL ALL THE SPORTS BASEBALL START MONDAY. AND OF COURSE THEY'RE
[00:30:08]
CALLING FOR RAIN NEXT WEEK ALSO FOOTBALL. YOU KNOW, THEY'LL START IN MARCH, SO WE'VE GOT A LITTLE BIT OF TIME ON THAT. AND WE'RE WORKING ON THE PLANE INVENTORY. FROM THE SUMMER AND THE WINTER STUFF, AND WE LOOK OUT FRONT. WE'VE KIND OF STARTED WORKING ON A COUPLE OF DIFFERENT SHRUBS THAT WE TYPICALLY DON'T HAVE IN OUR SYSTEM, AND NOW WE'VE GOT HIM. PHASED THEM OUT, AND NOW WE'RE AND SOME RIVER ROCKS, STONES AND TRYING TO MAKE IT LOOK NICER THAN WHAT IT WAS.ELLIS MAGNETS, OBVIOUSLY. SO YEAH, THAT'S UH. THAT'S A RUNDOWN OF KIND OF WHAT WE'VE GOT. WE'VE GOT LOTS MORE GOING ON, BUT THAT'S A PRETTY MAIN MAIN DEAL RIGHT NOW AND THEN GETTING WITH THE TRUCKS WHENEVER WE CAN FOR, LIKE, DAN SAID. FOR RAYMOND BARK, SO. AND ONE MORE THING I WROTE DOWN WHILE I GET IT. WE'RE STILL I MEAN, KIND OF WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT THE PARTS AND THE ANYTHING THAT HAS TO DO WITH PLUMBING AND IRRIGATION AND ALL OF OUR STUFF THAT WAS FIVE YEARS AGO. NON EXISTENT NOW, SO NOW WE'RE TRYING TO RETRO FOR IT, SO WOULDN'T THAT WE HAD THAT FREES ARE CONCISELY STANDS FLOODED AGAIN BUSTED POPS. LUCKILY WE HAD ALL THE WATER OFF THIS TIME WE'VE LEARNED OVER THE YEARS AND JUST CUT IT OFF. BUT THEN, OF COURSE, WHEN WE TURNED IT ON, WE HAD NOWHERE TO SIX INCH MAIN BUST AND ONE OF THE BILL WE HAVE HATERS ON JUST GETS THAT COLD IN THERE. UH, SO WE'RE HOPEFULLY GOING TO GET ALL THAT FIXED TOMORROW. IT'S OUR CONCESSION STANDS. WE'RE KINDA IN A SHAMBLES RIGHT NOW, BUT LUCKILY WE HAVE ANYTHING IN PRACTICE IS REALLY GOING ON. SO ANYWAY, THAT'S WHAT WE GOT GOING ON.
QUESTIONS. THANK YOU. NICE SLIDE BY THE WAY. OKAY UH, PATTY WANTED TO GIVE YOU GUYS AN UPDATE ON OUR IN NEW NEW E NEWSLETTERS AND FACEBOOK SOCIAL MEDIA. UM AS YOU MAY OR MAY NOT KNOW WE'VE GOT TO NEWSLETTERS THAT WE DO THROUGH EMAIL. WE'VE GOT THE LANDSCAPE, WHICH IS REALLY JUST A GENERAL. PARKS AND REC DEAL. THEN WE HAVE THE SENIOR SCENE, WHICH IS REALLY MORE INTENDED TOWARDS OUR ACTIVE ADULT POPULATION. AND THEN OBVIOUSLY WE HAVE A FACEBOOK PAGE. UM WHAT I WANT TO REALLY WANT TO HIGHLIGHT ON THESE PETTING IS A GREAT JOB OF KEEPING THESE OUT. IT'S A LOT OF WORK TO GET THESE OUT MONTH AFTER MONTH AFTER MONTH. AND ALSO KEEP UP WITH THE FACEBOOK PAGE. HER OPEN RATES ARE REALLY PRETTY STRONG. YOU LOOK AT 70% FOR THE LANDSCAPE. 67% FOR THE SENIOR SEEN WITH A LITTLE OVER 1100 PEOPLE WITH THE LANDSCAPE AND OBVIOUSLY LITTLE OVER 600 FOR THE SENIOR SENIOR. THERE MAY BE SOME CROSSOVER THERE, TOO. I WOULD ANTICIPATE THAT THERE IS UM BUT THEN WITH THE FACEBOOK PAGE WITH ALMOST 7000 FOLLOWERS, THAT'S THAT'S THAT'S PRETTY SALTY RIGHT NOW. FOR COMMUNITY OF OUR SIZE, I'LL TAKE THAT ANY DAY OF THE WEEK. UH SO AND WE REALLY RELY ON THESE THREE ITEMS , PLUS OUR WEBSITE TO GET INFORMATION OUT ON OUR EVENTS ON OUR ACTIVITIES PROGRAMS. WE DON'T HAVE A BIG YEAH. BUDGET TO PUT THINGS INTO OTHERS OTHER FORMS OF MEDIA SO, BUT THESE OBVIOUSLY REACH A GOOD GOOD SEGMENT OF THE POPULATION. UM PEOPLE ARE INTERESTED IN IT BECAUSE YOU CAN SEE THAT THEY'RE YOU KNOW, SEVEN OUT OF 10 2 OUT OF THREE. HOWEVER, YOU WANT TO LOOK AT IT OR OPENING UP THESE ITEMS, SO THAT'S REALLY GOOD. SO WE'RE EXCITED ABOUT THAT, AND SHE DOES A GREAT JOB OF KEEPING UP WITH THOSE THINGS. UM I'LL GIVE YOU MY DIRECTOR'S REPORT. OBVIOUSLY WE GOT A LITTLE MORE INFORMATION FOR YOU GUYS TODAY. UM I WANT TO GIVE YOU THIS. AN UPDATE ON THE PAUL'S REPLACEMENT OF OUR INCOMING ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF PARKS, KURT, VILE HARZ, WHO HAVE TALKED ABOUT IN PRIOR MEETING. UM OR MAYBE I HAVEN'T NO, I GUESS WE HAVE NOT. I'M SORRY. I THOUGHT WE HAD WE WENT THROUGH A REVIEW IN THE INTERVIEW PROCESS BACK IN IT WAS NOVEMBER DECEMBER, I THINK WAS BEGINNING KNOWS. JANUARY SORRY. UM UH, YEAH. KURT CURRENTLY SERVES AS THE PLANNING SUPERINTENDENT IN THE CITY OF RICHARDSON. CURRENT WORK TOGETHER FOR A FEW YEARS, KURT DAWSON, AND WE'RE VERY MUCH LOOKING FORWARD TO GETTING THEM ON BOARD. I AM BECAUSE I'M GETTING TIRED OF DOING BOTH JOBS. UH NO. JUST KIDDING. I AM , BUT IT'S ALL GOOD, COLONEL. BE A GREAT ASSET TO OUR DEPARTMENT. VERY STRONG PLANNER, LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT PROJECT MANAGER. THE GUY DOES IT ALL. HE'S GOT EXPERIENCE WITH PUBLIC ART. SO THERE ARE SOME THINGS THAT I HAVE SOME GOALS THAT I WANT TO DO BEFORE I EVENTUALLY RETIRE SOMEDAY. UM AND KURT IS GOING TO
[00:35:01]
MEET A LOT OF THOSE NEEDS, AND I THINK THE COMMUNITY WILL FEEL HIS PRESENCE FOR SURE. SO HE SHOULD BE AT THE NEXT MEETING, SO HE'LL BE DOING THE OTHER REPORTS ON THE PROJECTS. UM.NEXT THING I WANTED TO TALK TO YOU ALL ABOUT AFTER LAST MARCH, WE ACTUALLY HAD OUR MEETING ON THE WEEK OF SPRING BREAK AND MEMBERS OF THE BOARD THAT WE'RE HERE AT THE TIME HAD ASKED US TO LOOK AT CHANGING THE DAY TO GET OFF THAT WEEK, WHICH I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND. UM RIGHT NOW. THE MEETING IS SCHEDULED FOR MARCH 9TH THAT IS SPRING BREAK WEEK. WE I WOULD LIKE TO ASK YOU ALL TO CONSIDER IF YOU'RE IF IT'S GONNA WORK OUT. IF IT DOESN'T WE CAN. WE CAN STICK WITH THE NINTH OR WE CAN MOVE TO ANOTHER DATE. UM MOVING THE MEETING A WEEK UP TO MARCH 2ND. NOW THIS IS ALSO SELF SERVING FOR THE PARK STAFF. UH WE ARE RIGHT NOW. AND THE FINAL THE HOMESTRETCH. WE HOPE OF THIS CAPRA ACCREDITATION. AND IN DOING SO, WE'VE DRILLED DOWN THERE ARE SO MANY ITEMS THAT WE HAVE TO SUBMIT INTO REPORTS ON AND ALL TO SUBMIT TO AND OR A P A. THE NATIONAL, UM ACCREDITATION, FOLKS. AND WE FOUND A COUPLE OF ITEMS THAT WE REALLY WOULD LIKE TO HAVE BLESSED BY THE PARKS BOARD AND THEY WEREN'T READY FOR TONIGHT. AND IT WAS SOMETHING WE FOUND OUT, PROBABLY THE PAST WEEK. WE WILL HAVE THOSE READY FOR NEXT WEEK. WE HAVE TO SUBMIT OUR REPORT. THE DEADLINE IS MARCH 13TH. SO IF WE CAN MOVE IT TO THE SECOND THAT WOULD HELP US WE DON'T HAVE TO. I CAN STILL CALL A SPECIAL MEETING OR THERE MAY BE OTHER WAYS FOR US TO GET THAT BLESSED IF THE SECOND IS NOT A GOOD DATE, SO I DON'T WANT YOU TO DO IT JUST FOR THAT REASON.
UM BUT I JUST WANT YOU TO CONSIDER THAT WE DID TALK TO VALERIE. TODAY SHE WAS UNABLE TO MAKE IT TONIGHT. SHE'S GOT SCHOOL. UM SOMETHING GOING ON WITH THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM. BUT SHE SAID SHE WOULD BE FINE TO MOVE IT UP A WEEK EARLY, SO I JUST WANTED TO PUT THAT OUT TO YOU RIGHT NOW AND JUST DECIDE. I'M GOOD. EVERYBODY'S GOOD. OKAY, THEN WE WILL SEND SOMETHING OUT JUST TO AFFIRM THAT WE HAVE TO DO SOME THINGS. THE TOWN TOO. BUT IF YOU PUT THAT ON YOUR CALENDARS, THANK YOU FOR BEING FLEXIBLE THAT IT DOES HELP STAFF ON ONE OF OUR OTHER TASKS. THE NEXT THING I WANTED TO BRING YOUR ATTENTION. I DON'T KNOW IF YOU GUYS ARE AWARE OF THIS RIGHT NOW WE'RE DOING A AND WE JUST TALKED ABOUT A COUPLE MINUTES AGO ABOUT GETTING COMMUNITY INPUT. WE'VE GOT THE DOWNTOWN PARK, WHICH IF YOU'RE NOT FAMILIAR WITH IT, IT'S AT THE CORNER OF CHURCH AND BROADWAY. RIGHT NOW. IT'S JUST A GREEN SPACE WITH A, UH IT'S A DETENTION POND SITTING IN THE MIDDLE. WE HAVE HIRED, UM TAKING UP PERKINS TO COME IN AND DO SOME CONSULTING WORK FOR US. THEY'VE DEVELOPED A VIDEO. SO. AS MANY PARKS DEPARTMENTS WILL BE TYPICALLY WHEN YOU WANT COMMUNITY AND PUT YOUR SCHEDULE A MEETING FOR A TUESDAY NIGHT.
YOU HOPE PEOPLE COME IN. YOU GIVE HER PRESENTATION AND THEN ASK HIM TO MAKE COMMENTS. WOULD A LOT OF TOWNS AND CITIES STARTED FIND OUT WHEN THEY WERE GOING THROUGH THESE PROCESSES, ESPECIALLY DURING COVID, WHERE YOU REALLY COULDN'T BRING THAT MANY PEOPLE IN THE ONE PLACE WE STARTED THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX AND WE STARTED DOING THINGS LIKE THIS DOING VIDEOS AND ONLINE SURVEYS, AND I HAD SOME EXPERIENCE WITH THAT IN RICHARDSON. AND WE HAD SO MUCH MORE INPUT BECAUSE YOU THINK IF YOU'RE LUCKY, YOU'LL GET TWO NIGHTS THAT YOU CAN DO WELL.
KIDS AT SCHOOL AND ACTIVITIES AFTERWARDS, FOLKS WORK THEY GET HOME. YOU MAY NOT GET THAT CROSS REPRESENTATION. YOU MIGHT GET THE SAME. SEVEN PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITY KEEP COMING OUT AND ARE NOW DICTATING WHAT YOU'RE PUTTING IN YOUR PARKS, WHICH GREAT FOR THEM COMING OUT, BUT IT'S NOT A TRUE CROSS. YEAH. REFERENCE OF THE COMMUNITY'S NEEDS AND WANTS SO WHAT WE'VE DONE IS ACTUALLY STARTING THIS PAST MONDAY, THIS VIDEO WAS POSTED IN IT'S GOT IT'S JUST GOT A QUICK INFORMATION IS A COUPLE OF MINUTES 34 MINUTES LONG. UM WALK YOU THROUGH THE PARK THAT GETS THEM DRONE FOOTAGE KIND OF MOVING THROUGH AND ABOVE. IT'S REALLY WAS WELL DONE. AND THEY HAVE NARRATED WHAT WE'RE LOOKING AT DOING. UM AND THEN AT THE END, THERE'S A LINK TO OUR SURVEY. AND IT'S A LIKE A SIX QUESTIONS. SURVEYS UH, SURVEY MONKEY TYPE TYPE DEAL. SO, UM THAT'S GOING TO BE POSTED STARTED ON MONDAY. WE WILL CLOSE IT ON MARCH, 1ST AND MARCH 1ST.
SO WE'RE HOPING TO GET A LOT OF COMMUNITY INPUT, SO PLEASE YOU GUYS ALL HAVE THE SAME OPPORTUNITY TO GO IN. WE'RE NOT LIMITED TO ANYBODY. YOU KNOW? OBVIOUSLY WE'RE HOPING PEOPLE THAT LIVE IN THAT AREA AND EVEN THE BUSINESSES IN THAT AREA WILL REALLY FOCUS BECAUSE I PROBABLY IMPACTS THEM THE MOST. IT'S A SMALL PARK. IT'S A COUPLE ACRES, BUT MORE EXCITED ABOUT IT. IT'S KIND OF AS DOWNTOWN DEVELOPS. THESE ARE GOING TO BE SOME COLD GREEN SPACES THAT ARE GOING TO DOT THROUGHOUT THAT AREA. AND HOPEFULLY, YOU KNOW 20 YEARS FROM NOW IS THE DOWNTOWNS EXPANDED, AND, UM, GREAT LITTLE SHOPS AND RESTAURANTS AND MAYBE YOU CAN GRAB LUNCH AND GO SIT IN THE PARK AND DO THOSE THINGS SO PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT IT. UM IT WILL. PATTY HAS BEEN POSTING IN THE Q R CODE ON OUR FACEBOOK PAGE AND ALSO ON BOTH THE PARKS AND REC. UH, WEBSITE. AND THE
[00:40:06]
TOWN'S WEBSITE. SO WE THINK WE'VE GOT PLENTY OF OUTREACH SO YOU CAN GO IN THERE AND JUST SEARCH DOWNTOWN PARK COMMUNITY SURVEY DOWNTOWN PARK. UM, BUT IT SHOULD BE PRETTY AND YOU CAN SEE ON THE WELL, NOT AT THE BOTTOM LEFT IS THE ACTUALLY THE SCREENSHOT OF THE VIDEO. BUT THE OTHER TWO ARE SCREENSHOTS OF OUR WEBSITES, AND IT'S GOT THEM LISTED RIGHT THERE. SO SHOULD BE PRETTY EASY TO FIND. IF YOU CAN'T FIND IT. CALL ME. I'LL GET YOU THERE. OKAY LYNN. SHE KNOWS SHE DOESN'T LET ME TOUCH THE COMPUTER ANYMORE. UH AND THAT'S ALSO ON. I THINK MAYOR BRISTOL HAD POSTED THAT ON FACEBOOK AS WELL WITH HIS MAYORS MINUTE OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT, AND I KNOW I PUT IT OUT AND POSTED ON OUR WHITLEY PLACE. GREAT GROUP DEAL SO THAT EVERYBODY WOULD GET A CHANCE TO COMMENT ON THE WORLD. WE'D LOVE TO HAVE 30,000 COMMENTS ON IT. WE REALLY WOULD.UM, I DOUBT WE'LL GET THAT MANY, BUT I MEAN, I WILL TELL YOU FOR COMMUNITY MEETINGS. YOU'RE LUCKY EVEN IN THE CITY. I WORKED IN 120,000 PEOPLE. WE MIGHT GET 3100. MAYBE 100 IF YOU'RE LUCKY , AND THAT'S RARE, BUT MOST OF THE TIME WAS 2030 40 PEOPLE. SO UM, WHEN WE DID THE ONLINE FEEL LIKE THIS, I THINK WE WERE 4 TO 500 PEOPLE, WHICH WAS HUGE IN THAT ASPECT. SO UM, BUT, YEAH, PLEASE SHARE THIS WITH YOUR NEIGHBORS AND SCHOOLS, CLUBS, WHATEVER. UM WE'D LOVE TO HAVE A BUNCH OF INPUT ON THIS. ANY QUESTIONS ON THAT. ALRIGHT, WELL, KEEP GROWING. UM TREVOR, TALK TO A LITTLE BIT EARLIER ABOUT THE FISHING DERBY COMING UP. NOT THIS WEEKEND, BUT THE FOLLOWING WEEKEND. WE HAVE SETTLED ON OUR LIST OF EVENTS FOR THE YEAR. WE WERE ASKED TO TRY TO AVOID THE SUMMER AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. JUST BECAUSE THE HIGH TEMPERATURES OBVIOUSLY THERE'S A COUPLE THINGS THAT WE REALLY CAN'T AVOID. WE'RE GOING TO DO THE FOURTH OF JULY OF IT IN JULY. THAT'S THAT MAKES SENSE JULY, 1ST INSTANCE. BUT THERE'S A COUPLE OF THINGS I WANTED TO BRING YOUR ATTENTION. UM OUR FIRST, UH, DISCOVERED DOWNTOWN EVENT. IT'S GOING TO BE THE MOONLIGHT MOVIE. WE DID THE MOONLIGHT MOVIE LAST YEAR. WE HAD TO MOVE IT A COUPLE OF TIMES BECAUSE THE WEATHER IMPACTED IT. BUT WHAT WE'RE GONNA TRY THIS GO AROUND IS ON A FRIDAY NIGHT. WE HAD GREAT WEEK WE HAD OVER WHAT? WE HAD 130 140 150. PEOPLE COME OUT. UM HAD GREAT INPUT ON THAT , OR THINKING WAS SATURDAY'S GET TO BE SO CRAZY, ESPECIALLY FOR FAMILIES WITH KIDS. SO WE THOUGHT, WHAT IF WE BROUGHT PEOPLE OUT AT SEVEN O'CLOCK ON A FRIDAY? EVERYBODY'S HOME FROM WORK TO FRIDAY. THEY CAN GO RUN DOWNTOWN. GRAB A MEAL AT THE GIN. OR WHEREVER THEY WANT TO GO AND COME OUT AND MARCH. IT WILL GET DARK EARLY ENOUGH. WE'RE NOT . WE'RE NOT. WE'RE NOT WAITING TILL NINE O'CLOCK TO ESPECIALLY THE YOUNG KIDS THAT GET DARK ENOUGH SO WE CAN DO THAT SO WE'RE GOING TO TRY ON A FRIDAY NIGHT AND SEE IF IT HITS. IF IT DOESN'T. WE'LL MOVE IT BACK TO A SATURDAY IN THE FUTURE, BUT WE THINK IT'S GOING TO BE A GOOD FUNDING MORE KIND OF PROMOTERS, MAYBE LIKE A DATE NIGHT FOR FAMILIES AND THERE'S SOMETHING LIKE THAT. UM MAY 6TH IN LAST YEAR, SO WE'RE GONNA TRY CINCO DE MAYO EVENT THIS YEAR. AND THIS ONE IS GOING TO ACTUALLY REPLACE THE BOOTS ON BROADWAY EVENT THAT WE DID LAST YEAR. NOW WE'RE NOT GIVING UP ON MUSIC. WE HAD SUCH A GREAT TURNOUT AT CELEBRATE PROSPER. WITH THE MUSIC BEING THE FOCUS HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE BARBECUE AND THE JAZZ AND ALL THAT. WE HAVE SUCH GREAT FEEDBACK. WHAT WE'RE GOING TO DO IS GOING TO TRY AND ACTUALLY UM EVEN KICK THAT UP A NOTCH AND MAYBE FOCUS OUR MUSIC AND OUR BANDS ON THAT EVENT. A LOT OF THESE EVENTS WILL HAVE LITTLE STAGES AND MUSIC GOING ON AT THE SAME TIME, BUT WE'RE REALLY NOT GOING TO FOCUS ON A CONCERT DOWNTOWN. THIS GO AROUND WITH THAT BEING THE SOLE FOCUS. SO, UM WE'RE GOING TO TRY IT OUT, OR PROBABLY, LIKE A AFTERNOON TYPE EVENT WILL BRING OUT SOME FOOD TRUCKS, TACOS AND BURRITOS, AND MAYBE WE'LL GET PROSPER WINEHOUSE TO DO SOME MARGARITAS AND, UM YOU KNOW, MUSIC AND JUST, YOU KNOW, IT SHOULD BE A FUN NIGHT SUNDAY. SO THAT'S SOMETHING I WANT TO BRING YOUR ATTENTION. AH! I THINK THAT'S REALLY THE LAST ITEM. SO WE ARE STILL SHORT, 1/4 DISCOVERER DOWNTOWN EVENT, WHICH YOU CAN SEE ABOUT PUTTING OUT AT THE BOTTOM TREVOR BRAND, AND I MET TODAY AND WE'VE TALKED WITH ROBIN BATTLE. WE'RE LOOKING TO DO WE THINK WE'RE ALMOST THERE WERE STILL SOME DETAILS TO WORK OUT. BUT WE RIGHT NOW I'VE GOT A TITLED CHROME AND COFFEE. SO WHAT WE WANT TO DO IS CLOSE DOWN. AT LEAST HALF A BROADWAY AND BRING OUT SOME COOL CARS, MOTORCYCLES. WHATEVER AND YOU, I THINK YOU'VE ALL HEARD OF CARS AND COFFEE. THINGS LIKE THAT. CARSON COPY IS A FRANCHISE SO WE CAN'T USE THAT. BUT THE THOUGHT IS AGAIN WITH THE DISCOVERY DOWNTOWN EVENTS. THE IDEA IS TO BRING PEOPLE DOWNTOWN. SEE THE SHOPS DO ALL THAT. SO 14 18 COFFEE JUST OPENED UP. COLEMAN AND. SO WE'VE BRIAN. I KNOW TALKED TO THEM TODAY. WE WANT TO GET THEM INVOLVED WITH THIS EVENT. HAVE THEM COME OUT AND DO COFFEE AGAIN. THIS IS NOT ANYTHING MILITANT STONES IS THE
[00:45:02]
IDEA BEHIND THIS. PROSPER WHITE HOUSE, SEE IF THEY'LL COME OUT. MAYBE DO SOME OF MOSES AND THEN GET WITH THE JAM AND SEE. MAYBE THEY CAN DO SOME BREAKFAST TACOS, SOMETHING LIKE THAT. SO THIS WOULD BE AN EARLY MORNING EVENT. IT'S IN THE SUMMER. WE'RE LOOKING AT LATE JULY FOR THIS ONE CAR. GUYS DON'T BRING THEIR CARS OUT WHEN IT'S WET COLD, WHATEVER. UM MOST OF THESE CARS AND COFFEES I USED TO GO TO THEM ALL THE TIME. THESE GUYS ARE OUT THERE AT SEVEN IN THE MORNING.THEY'RE DRINKING THEIR COFFEE WITH THEIR CAR CLUBS AND THEN USUALLY BY NINE O'CLOCK. THEY'RE OUT AND THEY'RE RUNNING WITH THE CAR BUDDIES AND THEY'RE DRIVING . THEY GO GRAB LUNCH AND BEER, PROBABLY AND THEN THEIR HOME BEFORE IT GETS TOO HOT, SO THIS WOULD BE HOPEFULLY BEFORE IT GETS TOO WARM. UM, BUT SOMETHING NEW. WE JUST WANT TO TRY AND KEEP BRINGING IN SOME NEW ENERGY. I THINK IT'D BE FUN. IT MIGHT BE A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENT CROWD, BUT HELP THE NEW COFFEE GUY PROSPER. WINEHOUSE IS STILL ONE OF THE NEWER ONES AND THEN I DON'T KNOW THAT MIKE NEEDS A BUNCH OF HELP AT THE GYM, BUT ALSO HELP HELP HIM TOO. SO THAT'S THAT'S OUR IDEA. WE THINK IT'S GONNA BE A GOOD ONE. UM BUT YOU'LL HAVE TO SET THE ALARM INTO THIS ONE SO WELL. IT'LL PROBABLY WRAPPED UP BY 10 30 11 O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING, BUT WE'RE EXCITED ABOUT THAT. ANY QUESTIONS? ARE YOU GOING TO INVITE CAR CLUBS TO THAT, OR HOW'S THAT? SO WE'VE GOT A COUPLE OF PEOPLE THAT WE'RE GOING TO TALK TO YOU. WE'RE STILL WORKING OUT THE DETAILS, YOU KNOW, CAR CAR SHOWS TAKE ON DIFFERENT TYPES OF THINGS. SOME CAR SHOWS THEY'RE ALL DAY, THERE'S CATEGORIES AND AWARDS AND JUDGES. I DON'T THINK THAT'S WHAT WE'RE LOOKING AT DOING THIS THIS GO. I THINK THIS IS GOING TO BE MORE LIKE A SOCIAL TYPE THING. COME OUT EARLY. GRAB A CUP OF COFFEE, MAYBE GET A DONUT OR BREAKFAST TACO. AND JUST KIND OF CHECK THINGS OUT. BUT WE WILL DEFINITELY TARGET THE CAR CLUBS . YOU KNOW, WE'RE HOPEFUL WHEN WE GET 30 40 50 CARS. THAT'S WHAT I'M REALLY HOPING FOR. UM THE IDEA WOULD BE TO CLOSE DOWN BROADWAY AT MAINZ. JUST GO.
WE'LL LEAVE MAINE WILL BE OPEN. WE'LL SHUT IT DOWN ON THE WEST SIDE. AND WE'VE GOT PROBABLY 50 60 PARKING SPACES AND SOME OTHER IDEAS TO PARK CARS. IF WE GET MORE THAN THAT, SO YEAH.
SOMETHING NEW TO TRY SOMETHING. UM I ALSO WANT TO MAKE SURE YOU ALL KNOW, PROSPER PANTRY IN THE PAST HAS DONE A CAR SHOW EVENT. THEY DO IT IN MAY. THIS WOULD BE A TOTALLY DIFFERENT KIND OF THING. THERE'S JUST MORE OF THE FULL DAY. PROBABLY TWO OR THREE THE AWARDS AND ALL THOSE THINGS.
IT DIDN'T HAPPEN LAST YEAR. IT HAPPENED THE YEAR TWO YEARS PRIOR OR NOT LOOKING TO COMPETE WITH THAT WE'RE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT AWAY WILL BE AFTER THEIR EVENT. SO AGAIN, THEY ARE TYPICALLY MID MAY. OKAY? OKAY? SO ARE THEY, THE ONE THAT IS USUALLY AT FRONTIER.
ANY OTHER QUESTIONS ON THE EVENTS OR ANYTHING IN PARTICULAR. OKAY? SO I THINK THE LAST THING I HAVE FOR YOU GUYS WE HAVE ONE PERSON IN THE ROOM HERE. THAT DEFINITELY IS IN TUNE WITH WHAT WAS GOING ON WITH THIS. WE ALL KNOW THE US READING BYPASS FOR THE PAST YEAR, IT REALLY BEEN A BIG TOPIC. UM THEY DID FINALLY SETTLE ON A ROUTE WHICH WAS VERY PROSPER FRIENDLY SO YOU CAN SEE IT ON THE BOARD. IT DOES NOT IMPACT PROSPER IN ANY WAY. UM YOU CAN SEE THE EASTERN BORDER OF BEING CUSTARD SO YOU CAN SEE THAT IT TURNS NORTH WELL INTO MCKINNEY. SO JUST DIDN'T KNOW. KIND OF SURPRISED ME. I KIND OF GOT TO AN EMAIL ONE DAY GOING ON, AND I SAID I HADN'T HEARD NOTHING ABOUT IT. SO, UM, JUST WANTED TO BRING BRING THAT UP FOR YOU GUYS. UH, SO, YOU KNOW, SO YES. OKAY, GO AHEAD. UM YEAH, LIKE DAN SAID. WHAT THEY'VE DONE IS, UH, TEXT DOT ALONG WITH MULTIPLE ENGINEERING FIRMS HAVE DONE THEY CALLED IT THE EYES, WHICH IS AN ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STUDY. AND THEN THE D E. I S IS WHAT SUPPORTS THEIR DECISION. SO THIS IS. THIS IS THE ROUTE. AS DAN HAS HAS STATED, THIS IS THE ROUTE UM, THAT THEIR STUDIES UM, SUPPORT. I WOULD LIKE TO REALLY IMPRESS ON ORGANIZATIONS. AND CITIZENS. TO, UM SEND LETTERS.
[00:50:06]
TO TEXT DOT AND I THINK THERE'S PROBABLY MULTIPLE SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS. THERE'S PROBABLY A MILLION WAYS TO FIND OUT THE INFORMATION. IF YOU CAN'T PLEASE ASK ME. UM BUT THERE IS OBVIOUSLY A TEXT ART DIRECTOR SUPERINTENDENT IN CHARGE STEPHEN ANDERS. UM AND WE REALLY DO NEED LETTERS TO GO OUT. THEY CAN. THEY'RE TAKING CITIZEN RESPONSE UNTIL THE 21ST OF MARCH. AND.THAT'S WHEN THEY'LL MAKE KIND OF THEIR THEIR THEIR FINAL DECISION . OKAY UM SO I APOLOGIZE. THAT WAS BAD INFORMATION. ON MY END. I THOUGHT THIS WAS THE FINAL. WELL UM IT SHOULD. I THINK EVERYBODY LIKE SO INVOLVED I MEAN, IN ALL TRANSPARENCY, UM I'M IN. BALD IN SOME OF THE LAND. THAT IS IN THE WAY AND WE DEVELOPED THE PARKS. PROPERTY THE PLAN HAD ALREADY BEEN IN PLACE. UM BUT THERE'S JUST BEEN A LOT OF ASPECTS. UM, THIS IS BEEN IN THE WORKS. I DON'T WANT TO REHASH ANYTHING EXCEPT JUST TO SAY REALLY THAT CITIZEN INPUT. LETTERS. NOT COMPLAINING.
BUT THANKING THEM IN AGREEING WITH THEIR, UH, CHOICE OF SEGMENT. A I GAVE DOWN A COUPLE OF RESOLUTIONS THAT SOME OF THE FINANCIAL GROUPS AND SOME OF THE OTHER COMMITTEES THAT I'M INVOLVED WITH. WE WERE PUTTING THEM TOGETHER. MAYOR BRISTOL WILL DO ONE ON THE TOWN. WE'VE HISTORICALLY DONE ONE GOING BACK TO HARLAN AND THEN AND EVERYBODY, BUT IT'S. IT'S KIND OF LIKE LIKE THE HORSES DOWN AND YOU DO HAVE TO KICK IT WHILE IT'S DOWN THAT IT WON'T GET UP AGAIN. I PROBABLY MOST TERRIBLE THING FOR ME TO SAY. BUT WE DON'T WANT IT COMING IN. UM WE WILL SEE SOME DEMOGRAPHIC CHANGES BECAUSE THE 3 80 EASEMENT. WILL GROW SO I MEAN, QUITE FRANKLY, IT YOU KNOW, TACO BUENO. IS IT GOING TO STAY THERE? KIND OF THAT FRONT LINE IS GOING TO BE IS GOING TO BE GOING AWAY BECAUSE THEY WERE WIDENED. 3 80, SO STARBUCKS, THE TIRE SHOP. THAT STUFF WILL GO AWAY IN THE STUFF FACING WILL BE THAT SECOND LINE OF RETAIL, WHICH IS LIKE THE DICKEY'S BARBECUE. THAT KIND OF WILL BE THE FIRST LINE. SO THE ROADS NOT GONNA GO THERE, BUT THEY'RE HIGHWAY EASEMENT IS WIDER THAN MOST, SO THAT FIRST LINE OF SHOTS WILL GO AWAY. EVEN EVEN THAT PEOPLE THOSE WILL THAT'S WILL GO AWAY. THAT'S INCREDIBLE.
I DIDN'T REALIZE THAT EVEN IN PROSPER YEAH, BECAUSE, UM, IT IT WIDENS THE EASEMENT. FOR THE ROADWAY. IT WILL UH, IF IT'S FOUR NOW IT BECOMES A BOTH, YOU KNOW? FOUR LANES HEADED EAST, FOUR LANES HEADING WEST, PLUS THE EASEMENT SO IT WILL BE WIDER THERE. UM, BUT YEAH, LIKE DAN SAID, I MEAN, WITH CRITICAL WORK, AND I CAN'T EVEN THANK THE PARKS GROUP. I CAN'T EVEN THANK THE TOWN. EVERYBODY ENOUGH TO DEVELOPERS LADERA LAND PLAN. YOU KNOW, UM. THE SMITH FAMILY WHO OWNS WAS DOING SOME OF THE DEVELOPMENTS IN THERE. JUST IT'S GOING TO BE STINKING, AWESOME AND THE WAY THAT PARKS TRAIL IT'S GONNA GO UP THROUGH AND IT'S GOING TO WRAP LADERA. IT'S GOING TO COME BACK. JUST IT'S BEAUTIFUL. AND I'M GLAD WITH EVERYBODY'S DILIGENT WORK AND UM CONVERSATION. WE WERE WE WERE ABLE TO UM. PROVIDE ENOUGH PROOF IF YOU WILL. TO TEXT DOT BECAUSE THEY'RE KIND OF IT'S KIND OF A FEISTY ORGANIZATION, YOU KNOW. UM BUT WE LOVE THAT, THEY SAID.
WE THINK WE SHOULD DO A HISTORICALLY, PRESIDENTS SAYS THAT THEY WILL NOT CHANGE IT. UM BUT THE GAVEL HASN'T OKAY, YEAH, BUT. IT'S COOL. WE'RE ALL HAPPY SIGNS. HOW DOES THAT COME UP THROUGH, LIKE LIKE THERE'S THE HONEY. PERSON BACK THERE BY RIDGE ROAD AND ALL THAT. HOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT LOOKS LIKE THAT I DO NOT WE, UM FOR A FEW YEARS. UM, WE'VE TAKEN THE
[00:55:04]
POSITION. AS A TOWN THAT. WE REALLY DON'T CARE WHERE IT GOES ONCE IT'S OUT OF OUR TOWN. AND THAT'S NOT UH, IT'S NOT A PRETENTIOUS POSITION. IT'S NOT AN ARROGANT PRESENT POSITION.IT'S A FACTUAL POSITION THAT SAYS WE DON'T WANT YOU TELLING US WHERE IT NEEDS TO GO AND PROSPER, AND WE WON'T TELL YOU WHERE IT WOULD GO IN MCKINNEY. SO WE WOULD KIND OF UH, WE'RE KIND OF JUST KIND OF TAKING THAT RIGHT WHICH WE FEEL IS THE HIGH ROAD. UM YOU KNOW I HARLAN A FEW YEARS AGO, WE HAD HAD SOME CONVERSATIONS AND HE SAID, WE'RE REALLY FIGHTING ABOVE OUR WEIGHT CLASS. BECAUSE YOU KNOW WE'VE GOT EVEN AT THE TIME, NOT 30,000 RESIDENTS AND PROSPER AND MCKINNEY IS 300,000 SO UM, THAT'S WHY I JUST YEAH, I WOULD PLEAD TO EVERYBODY TO FIND OUT HOW TO WRITE A LETTER JUST AGREE THAT SEGMENT A YOU KNOW IS THE BEST ROUTE. AND IF THAT'S ALL YOU SAY THAT'S AWESOME. GETS A POINT IN THEIR ALGORITHM, AND IT REALLY DOES SO. WE'VE WE'VE LEARNED HOW TO FIGHT THIS. THANK YOU, BOB FOR THE DETAILS FOR BEING SO WORRIED IT JUST AS YOU KNOW, IT'S BEEN A PASSION OF MINE PERSONALLY FOR A FEW YEARS, SO GREAT. I THINK IT TURNED OUT.
SPECTACULAR GOOD, GOOD. WHAT'S THE TIMELINE? I MEAN, I KNOW THIS IS OBVIOUSLY YEARS AND YEARS OUT, BUT WHAT'S THE TIMELINE FOR THEM? YOU KNOW, FOR THE DEVELOPMENT FOR THIS UM IT, UH IT'S A PROJECT THAT TEXT DOT FILES IN THERE. 2040 FOLDER. SO I DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS OF YOU KNOW THE SHOVEL READINESS OF IT. WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO SEE SURVEYORS OUT? UM WIDENING 3 80.
I DON'T KNOW, YOU KNOW? FIVE. SIX YEARS. UM OR IF THEY GET FUNDS, THEY MAY DO IT SOONER.
BUT BOTH THE TOWN OF PROSPER IN THE CITY OF MCKINNEY. WILL BE CHARGED WITH FINANCIAL INVOLVEMENT IN THIS. FOR PURCHASING PROPERTY. I THINK THEY HAVE TO TAKE LIKE A 10% STAKE. SO YOU'LL START TO HEAR. REALLY NASTY STUFF IN MCKINNEY ABOUT YOU KNOW THEY HAVE TO RAISE WHATEVER $80 MILLION, I THINK AND IT. YOU KNOW, IT'S A REGIONAL DEAL. WE WANT TO BE A REGIONAL PARTNER, AND WE WANT TO JUST REALLY FLY LOW AND JUST SAY, WOW, WHAT A GREAT THING THAT SEGMENT A WAS CHOSEN. AND I, YOU KNOW. OUTSIDE OF HERE. I WILL BE MORE THAN HAPPY. I WOULD FEEL BETTER. I'LL ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS. YEAH I LIKE THAT. YEAH KUDOS TO PARKS AND REC BOARD IN THE TOWN AND THE C E. C AND YOU KNOW ANYBODY THAT HAD ANY INTEREST IN ANY PROPERTIES AROUND THERE? SURE IT WAS REALLY A LOT OF STAFF AND A LOT OF VOLUNTEERS FROM THE PUBLIC SURE INVOLVED IN THIS FOR SURE. SO ALRIGHT, GREAT. I'LL TURN IT BACK OVER TO THE CHAIR. THANK
